Type Soul has recently just had an update known as the Major Update that has added a lot to the game.  One of the bigger changes that a lot of community members have been wanting is an easier way to get Bankai, Full Res and Volt. With this new update, we have gotten exactly that.

But what exactly are the new requirements? We’ve got you covered with this one! In this Type Soul guide, we’ll be showing you exactly how to get Bankai, Full Res and Volt. We also recommend checking out the All New Factions added as part of the new update. With that said, let’s dive in!

How To Get Bankai, Full Res & Volt Complete Guide

To get Bankai, Full Res and Volt in Type Soul after the new update, you’ll need to do the following:

  1. Be at the Elite Grade Level in Hollow Progression
  2. Complete the Stage 1 and Stage 2 General Requirements
  3. Complete Stage 3 Progression depending on if you are a Quincy, Arrancar or Soul Reaper.

If you’re going for the Bankai in Type Soul, we recommend checking out our Best Shikai and Bankai Tier List.

Stage 1 General Requirements

To get Bankai, Full Res and Volt in Type Soul, you’ll need to complete some General Requirements. These requirements are the same regardless of which race you choose.

Starting off, you’ll need to make sure that you are at Elite Grade Level in your Hollow Progression. Otherwise, you will not be able to progress with the requirements.

If you aren’t there yet, you’ll need to continue to get more EXP and level up until you’re Elite Grade.

After that, you’ll need to complete any of the following requirements:

  • 15-25 Raid Wins
  • 25-30 Ranked Wins.

You can choose to do either of these requirements, depending on what you feel is easier. This is a big change, as previously you would have had to do over 100 Raid Wins!

To keep track of your Stage 1 Progression, you’ll need to visit an Unnamed NPC

Start by making your way to the Rural Side of Karakura Town. Over here, you’re looking for a Warehouse as shown in the image below. Enter this Warehouse.

Go to the top floor of the Warehouse and you should be able to find the NPC. Talk to him and he’ll give you a certain line of dialogue. This dialogue will hint towards how much you’ve progressed through Stage 1.

The dialogue that corresponds to each percentage of Stage 1 Progression is as follows:

  • 0%: “You will never become anything, compared to what I am.”
  • 20%: “A couple of kills won’t get you anywhere, stop bothering me.”
  • 40%: “Why do you keep coming back? You’re still pathetic.”
  • 60%: “Maybe you’re not so bad after all, but I’m still not impressed.”
  • 80%: “You’re quite unbelievable, you know that?”
  • 100%: “Unequaled… Unrivaled. Go make me proud lil bro.”

Once you’ve gotten the last dialogue, you can move on to Stage 2 Progression.

Stage 2 General Requirements

As with Stage 1, the Stage 2 progression will also be the same for each race when getting Bankai, Full Res and Volt in Type Soul.

Before you start with your Stage 2 Progression, you’ll need to keep one thing in mind. Your Stage 2 Progression will reset if you die. So, you’ll need to go through the entire process all over again if you end up dying.

However, once you’ve completed Stage 2, you will not have to worry about dying.

With that said, we’ll be looking at the Stage 2 Requirements. You can complete them in any order, just don’t die!

Here are the Stage 2 Requirements:

  • 15 Elite Grade Grip (opposing factions only)
  • 80 Hollow Kills (the big ones)
  • 1 Bawabawa or Jidanbo Kill.

The first requirement can be really difficult, as you’ll basically have to engage in PvP against rival factions. After that, you’ll also need to Grip them. So, it’s very easy to die since you’re facing off against experienced players.

So, for this part, we recommend that you get some help from a friend

By killing your friend from an opposing faction, you’ll be able to complete this part much faster. Alternatively, you can find someone in the game chat or community to help you out.

After that, simply grind out 80 Hollows that you can find all across the map. Some people claim you can kill any Hollows, while others say the big ones. So just to be safe, we recommend going with the second route.

Lastly, you’ll need to kill either the Bawabawa or Jidanbo Boss once. Here are their locations:

  • Bawabawa Boss – Hueco Mundo
  • Jidanbo Boss – Near Stairs in Soul Society.

Once you’ve completed these requirements, you won’t have to worry about them resetting anymore. For the next part, you’ll need to do Stage 3 Progression depending on which race you are. We’ll look at each of them.

Soul Reapers Stage 3 Progression (Bankai)

If you’re a Soul Reaper, you’ll need to go through a specific Stage 3 Progression. Starting off, you’ll need to locate the Kisuke NPC in Type Soul. Make your way to the Hospital Side of the Karakura Town.

From there, navigate towards the Houses and explore the area. You should come across an elevated area with some benches near the trees.

The Kisuke NPC will be standing here waiting for you.

Talk to him and he’ll ask you to find your Zanpakuto. You’ll basically have to select the right sword – and it’ll turn Blue. This is completely RNG based and will depend on your luck.

If you fail this part, you can simply reset the cooldown. To do this, simply Grip 2 players that are not of the same Race.

After that, you can repeat the task until you get the right sword. Doing so will give you the Bankai!

These Bankai requirements are much easier than the earlier ones. If you’re interested in seeing them, check out our older Awaken Bankai guide!

Arrancars Stage 3 Progression (Full Res)

If you’re a Arrancars, you’ll need to go through the following Stage 3 Progression (Full Res).

First up, you’ll need to locate a particular cave in Type Soul. This is the Menos Cave that is located in Hueco Mundo.

Below is an image which shows where the entrance of the Menos Cave is located.

After that, make your way inside the Menos Cave and go to the end. When you’re here, you’ll need to start meditating. You’ll need to meditate here for 15 minutes until your screen turns black.

You’ll be teleported to a maze where you’ll need to locate your Hollow. Again, this part will depend on your luck as you’ll basically need to find the right one.

Like with the Soul Reapers Progression, if you fail this part, you can simply reset the cooldown. To do this, simply Grip 2 players that are not of the same Race.

After that, you will need to meditate at the Menos Cave and try to locate your Hollow again. Once you get the right one, you’ll get Full Res!

Quincy Stage 3 Progression (Volt)

If you’re a Quincy, then you’ll need to follow the Stage 3 Progression outlined here.

First up, you’ll need to locate the Volt NPC in Type Soul. You can find this NPC by going to Wanden in the game.

Once you’re there, you should be able to find the Volt NPC, as shown in the image below.

Talk to this NPC, and he’ll give you a challenge by teleporting you to a new area. In this location, you’ll need to complete a Parry Test.

In essence, Holy Lights will beam down at you from the sky for one and a half minutes. You’ll need to parry this light successfully to win the challenge.

We recommend that you tilt the camera as shown in the image below. Doing so will allow you to see the incoming Holy Lights much easier. In this way, you’ll have a much easier time with the Parry Test.

Once you complete the Parry Test, you’ll get Volt!

That’s everything you need to know about getting Bankai, Full Res and Volt in Type Soul. As you can see, the new update has made these much more attainable than before.

As part of the new update, there is also a new place where you can store your items. Check out our How To Get to Bank Location guide for more information!
