Final Fantasy XIV: BALMUNG Travel Guide

Ready to roam around the Balmung server?

Final Fantasy XIV: BALMUNG Travel Guide

Final Fantasy XIV is a world-renowned MMORPG that started out very rough in the early years. It was so bad, that they had to completely scrap the game and create a 2.0 version of the game from scratch on a new engine. Which actually proved to be a master act move, as years later the game is now one of the most talked-about MMO games, even more than World of Warcraft. But, there’s a more renowned location in Final Fantasy XIV, and it is the exotic Balmung server. What’s in there, you ask? Follow this guide and find out.

BALMUNG Travel Guide – Final Fantasy XIV

Full disclosure, traveling to Balmung is… not for the faint of heart. This server is exotic in every definition of the word, and the players in that server may have some mods installed that may or may not make your character look a certain way that you don’t see on your screen.

Bear in mind that Balmung is a RP-heavy server, and players will get upset if you don’t take that seriously. If you’re still brave enough to travel inside and see the wonders of Balmung, then let’s start off with clothing.

In Balmung, clothing is a must. Unlike in other servers where you dress to look cool or the way you want, the unspoken rule in the server is that you must dress to show off your characters’ “assets”. You can interpret that whichever way you want, but Balmung is known for the way the players dress. Or, almost lack of dress.

Another thing to take note of is that you actually have to walk in Balmung. Yes, that is an important rule for some reason. Walking is essential for the server’s “immersion”, even though you’re in a fantasy land full of human lion hybrid’s holding swords fighting gods and monsters, walking is a must.

Next up are recommended emotes, and this is the funny part. One of the recommended emotes for the server is a dabbing emote. It’s called the Black Ranger Pose A and B, and you can get it at the Mogstation.

How to Immerse Yourself in Balmung – Final Fantasy XIV

Other emotes you need is the Chang Pose, which is what basically allows you to sit down and stuff. Breath Control, Squats, Sit-ups, and Push-ups as well. Again, these are recommended. Probably because you need to stay in shape in Balmung to stay in Balmung.

Lastly are the Charmed, Hum, and Sweat emotes for when you want to… well, show that you’re attracted to someone. I am not joking; these are actually what they’re used for in Balmung.

Now you have the clothes, you have the walk down, and you got the emotes ready. Where do you go, though? Well, the number one spot in the server currently is the Balmung Beach party that got the community in trouble.

Yes, the Balmung community paid for a real-life billboard to announce that they are holding an in-game beach party at the server. This action attracted the attention of so many people, that it got Square Enix in trouble, which in turn got the community in trouble.

If you plan on staying in Balmung, I salute you good player, but Balmung is not for everyone and it is a very immersion-heavy server.
