Hunting birds in Dinkum luckily isn’t as hard as in other games. I myself have played Hunter: Call of The Wild and I’ve been through virtual bird hunting so I can tell you that it’s not for everybody. Like Hunter, Dinkum has a more passive way of hunting, that means traps. Let’s find out how to trap birds in Dinkum.
How To Trap Birds In Dinkum
Hunting birds in Dinkum can be finicky. Sometimes they notice your trap and sometimes they avoid it like it’s the plague. Before we go trapping some birds, we need to get ready first. You need a trapping License to even begin trapping, to unlock the Trapping one you first need to get your Hunting License to level 2. Then you can get Trapping License Level 1.
Now that you have your neat little License you can now start making traps. There are two kinds of traps, the Simple Animal Trap which you unlock at level 1, and the better Animal Trap which you unlock at level 2. Don’t worry, the way you use them is the same.
Now that you’ve created a trap, setting it up is simple. Place the trap by selecting it and holding the left mouse button. Then once the trap is placed, get some meat and press “Q” to drop it into the trap.
This should be done when there are birds nearby. Just run around till you see some birds and once you do, go near them and quickly place the trap and the meat. After a while, the bird will drop down and will be captured! Don’t worry, you get to keep the meat afterwards, although I personally wouldn’t eat it.
Congratulations, you’ve captured yourself a bird! Now you can ship them off to get your reward and you can start collecting all the kinds of birds on the island!
