Escape From Tarkov: How to Get an RPG Rocket Launcher

The art of explosion.

Escape From Tarkov features a variety of weapons that players can purchase or obtain as loot. There are a whole assortment of explosive weapons available too, but nothing that resembled a rocket launcher until recently. However, as part of a new optimization update, we have some interesting added content which includes the rocket launcher. Before you can get your hands on it, you will need to complete certain requirements. We’ll show you how to do these in the following guide. Without further delay, let’s get into it!

How to Get an RPG Rocket Launcher

The new Rocket Launcher is actually known as the RShG-2 Rocket Launcher. There are two ways to get it, one which will allow you to unlock the ability to trade for it. Let’s take a look at both of them.

Method #1 – Completing The Art Of Explosion

Starting off, let’s take a look at the main way to get the Rocket Launcher. To get it, you will need to complete The Art Of Explosion mission for Prapor.

However, this mission also has a prerequisite, which is completing the Grenadier quest (also given by Prapor).

To complete the Grenadier quest, you will need to kill x8 PMC operatives with hand grenades. This can be a challenging task in itself. Once you do complete it, you’ll unlock The Art Of Explosion. Keep in mind that you’ll need to be Level 20 to start the Grenadier quest.

The Art Of Explosion quest requires you to kill 35 targets using grenades or grenade launchers, which includes under barrels. Keep in mind that you will need to be Level 33 to start this quest.

Unfortunately, as of now, there is a bug that prevents certain kills from not being counter, which are:

  • Underbarrel grenade launcher kills from AK’s
  • Underbarrel grenade launcher kills from GP25.

Keep in mind that kills from mounted grenade launchers also do not work.

It remains to be seen whether they will fix this bug or not. Until then, you will need to rely on the weapons that do count like the M4 under barrel grenade launcher, the normal grenade launcher and the MSGL.

The best way to get these kills is using the Impact Grenades which are sold by Propor.

Once you get all the kills and complete the quest, you will get x1 RSh-G2 Rocket Launcher as a reward, alongside the ability to purchase them from Propar.

Keep in mind that the rocket launcher is not available in the flea market. You can only get it from Propar or as loot from dead players.

You can also not get any ammo for it as it is a single fire weapon. Once you use it, the weapon is basically useless on the field. However, you can still trade the empty weapon.

Method #2 – Finding In Marked Rooms

The other way of getting Rocket Launchers in Escape from Tarkov is by finding it on the map. So far, many players have found them spawn in Marked Rooms.

However, this is not a reliable way of getting them as the rocket launchers have a low chance of spawning there. But it is still worth a shot, as we have been able to confirm that they do in fact spawn there.

That’s everything you need to know about getting a Rocket Launcher in Escape from Tarkov. While marked rooms are worth checking out, be sure to complete The Art Of Explosion quest. Being able to trade the rocket launcher will be valuable. Hopefully, the devs will fix the bugs related to the kills so it’s much easier to complete!
