Let’s do it the old school way.

Old School Runescape Early Game 'Combat Only' Account Guide

Believe it or not, there are two versions of Runescape that you can play right now. We know the classic Runescape that was originally released in 2001, and then we have then we have the Old School Runescape, which is essentially the original version of Runescape before all of the major updates. Both games are available to play online and are supported by the same developer. However, we will be focusing on Old School Runescape, more specifically the Combat Only account that you can use when you play Old School Runescape.

So what is a Combat Only account? Well, it goes by many names. Combat Only Ironman, Reverse Skiller, 807, and Combat and Slayer Only. The reason for such name is because the Combat Only account focuses on just that: Combat. Combat and Slayer are the only skills the player can use as the other skills are locked.

When starting your new Old School Runescape account, you can choose what kind of Ironman you want to be. These range from Standard Ironman, Hardcore Ironman, Ultimate Ironman, and Group Ironman. You will be able to choose one of these when before you leave the tutorial island.

If you choose to do Ultimate Ironman, be aware of what you can and cannot do. You will have the basic restrictions that other Ironman choices have, but you will not be able to trade with another player. You will also be restricted from doing Grand Exchange as well as the bank. But you can have access to 1 hour of Clue Scroll Juggling (also known as Deathpiling).

Lastly, the Group Ironman is meant to be created with friends. You can only have a group of 5 members only. You have the basic restrictions and no Grand Exchange, but you can exchange with your group members only. If you choose to do the hardcore version of Group Ironman, then you will have a limited number of lives.

These are just the basics of what a Combat Only account can do. There are many more things to learn, but you can get a more in depth explanation of what the Combat Only account can do and how you can make it work from Lyfe, who made this amazingly informative video that you can check out here: Early Game ‘Combat Only’ Account Guide [2022].
