Final Fantasy 14 prides itself for being a game where you can choose a number of great and amazing jobs. What’s better is that you can experience all of these jobs on a single character, no need to make alts! Going from one job to another can be quite a whiplash though since you’ll often need to learn their skills and how to use them properly. It’s even more of a challenge if you move from different job types like from DPS to Healer or Tank. In this guide we’ll show you how to effectively play a Dancer.

Level 90 Dancer Guide | Opener, Rotation, Stats & More For FFXIV Endwalker Patch 6.2

The Dancer is not just a job that goes well with RPing and AFKing in Limsa. It’s an amazing support class that can deal a ton of damage as well as help the party out. There’s a lot of skills here to learn so let’s get to it.

GCDs and oGCDs

Combos

  • CascadeFountain: The Dancer’s basic 1-2 single target combo.
  • BladeshowerWindmill: The Dancer’s basic 1-2 AOE combo.

Cascade and Windmill

  • Using these skills can grant Silken Symmetry which can be used to cast either a single target Reverse Cascade or an AOE Rising Windmill.
    • Using either will give you Fourfold Feathers which can be used to case either a single target Fan Dance 1 or an AOE Fan Dance 2.
      • Using either can then give you Threefold Fan Dance which grants you one use of Fan Dance 3, an AOE.

Fountain and Bladeshower

  • Using either skills can grant Silken Flow which can be used to cast either a single target Fountainfall, or an AOE Bloodshower
    • Using either skills can give Fourfold Feathers.

Flourish – Grants the effects of Flourishing Symmetry, Flourishing Flow, Threefold Fan Dance and Fourfold Fan Dance which lets you use Fan Dance 4, a powerful oGCD AOE.

Closed Position – Sets a party member as a Dance Partner, which allows the sharing of the effects of Standard Finish, Curing Waltz, Devilment and Tillana. The priority list for this is Melee party members first, casters second and Physical Ranged last.

Standard Step – Turns all of the basic GCDs into steps, the dancer then needs to press the correct ones that light up then press Standard Step again to use Standard Finish, an AOE attack which buffs your dance partner as well as increase the Espirit Gauge.

Saber Dance – An AOE attack that uses up 50 units of the Espirit Gauge.

Technical Step – Same as Standard step in terms of mechanics. Once you use the dance moves and finish with Technical Step again you can then do Technical Finish which is an AOE attack that buffs all party members as well as increasing the Espirit Gauge. It will also grant Flourishing Finish which lets you use Tillana, an AOE attack that has similar effects as a Standard Finish.

Devilment – An oGCD ability that grants you and your dance partner an increased critical hit rate. This also grants Flourishing Starfall which lets you use Starfall Dance, an AOE attack with a guaranteed critical direct hit.

Utility

Curing Waltz – An AOE heal that heals yourself and your Dance Partner as well.

Shield Samba – Reduce damage taken by self and nearby party members.

Improvisation – An oGCD that makes the dancer dance for 15 seconds, using anything action or movement in-between will cancel it. While dancing, they will give nearby party members a regen effect. It also grants Rising Rhythm which can then be sued for Improvised Finish which gives all nearby party members barriers depending on how much Rising Rhythm stacks there was.

En Avant – A dash ability that has 3 charges, a great mobility skill.
