Fishing in Pokemon is a good way to catch wild Pokemon in the game. Some Pokemon can only be caught by fishing as well. There are multiple Fishing Rods in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and each rod can catch different types of Pokemon.

Below are all the Fishing Rod Locations in Pokemon Brilliant Diamon and Shining Pearl.
- Old Rod – You can get the Old Rod on Route 218. Go north to the water fountain and keep going to the left until you enter a building. There is an NPC here with a Fishing Rod, talk to him and he will give you the Old Fishing Rod.
- Good Rod – To get the Good Rod, you need to go to Route 209. Keep going to the right until you reach the guy fishing next to the lake. Talk to him and he will give you the Good Rod.
- Super Rod – Before you can get the Super Rod, you need to beat the Elite Four and get the National Dex. After getting the National Dex, go to Snowpoint and sail over to the Battle Zone. Talk to the NPC near the entrance and he will give you the Super Rod.
You can use the Fishing Rods on almost any body of water and try your luck in catching Wild Pokemon. The Super Rod allows you to encounter higher-level pokemon than the Good Rod and Old Rod.
