Honkai: Star Rail – Best Beginner Teams

Teamwork makes the dream work.

Honkai: Star Rail is a turn based RPG gacha game, a different game from their previous installment of that universe, Genshin Impact. With Honkai: Star Rail, you will be playing with a team with a maximum number of four characters, a different combat system from the third person, hack and slash gameplay of Genshin Impact. Star Rail will challenge you to set up a team that will carry you as far as the game goes. What are the best teams you can start with when you play the game? We’ll show you a couple of the most used teams in Honkai: Star Rail.

Best Beginner Teams

An example of a team setup for Honkai: Star Rail.

There are a couple of teams that you can use to help you get through the game with little to no difficulty (until you reach the endgame portion of the game, that is). These two teams have all been tested by the community, and are generally praised for their effectiveness. However, this may be subject to change as the game will receive updates in the future, which will likely buff or debuff some characters.

Here are two beginner teams to use:

Dan Heng, Serval, Asta, and Trailblazer (Fire)

Just letting you know now; you will be seeing Dan Heng a lot when you look at other players teams. That’s because Dan Heng is one of, if not, the best free to play DPS character in the game. Seval is also a great DPS to have.

Asta is also currently the only character that can buff other characters, so having her as support will help your team. Trailblazer (Fire) is mostly used as a support unit.

Dan Heng, Qinque, March 7th, and Natasha

Again, Dan Heng is your main DPS. But your other DPS will be Qinque. If she is able to pull jade tiles when her allies take their turns, she can match four tiles of the same suit to do a lot of damage.

March 7th is your defense character, as she can defend a selected character and even launch counter attacks. Natasha is your healer, and she is a good healer to have in this team.

You should also check our F2P tier list to see what other characters you should use to create a team with.

What do you think? Are these two teams enough to get beginners of Honka: Star Rail through the game? Or are there more team setups that can do better? Let us know and comment what you think.
