When completing the You Can Run, But You Can’t Hide Quest in Honkai: Star Rail, you will unlock the Backwater Pass location. The area has a variety of deadly foes, and a total of 14 treasure chests here.

Backwater Pass All Treasure Chest Locations & Warp Trotter Locations Guide
Here’s where to find all of the chests and warp trotters in Backwater Pass – Honkai: Star Rail.
Chest 1 Location
In order to find the first chest in Backwater Pass, go to the area in the North East corner of the map just like the image down below.
After you find yourself at the location, walk straight until you find a chest next to the wooden crates. This is a basic treasure chest which will give you some basic rewards such as EXP, Credit, Sparse Aether, Travel Encounters, etc.
Chest 2 Location
To find the second chest, go to the area in the middle top of the map as you can see in the image down below.
After you have arrived at the location, go straight until you find yourself with a bountiful treasure chest behind a gate. This chest will give you rewards such as condensed aether, credits, exp and more.
Chest 3 Location
Similarly, to find the third chest in this Backwater Pass region, you will need to go to the location in the image down below, facing a small red line.
After you get to the area, walk straight until you find yourself with a basic treasure chest located next to the controller.
Chest 4 Location
For chest number 4, head south and turn right until you arrive at the location described in the image down below.
After you get to the location, walk straight just a little bit. If you do it right, you’ll be able to see a basic treasure chest located out in the open, right next to the wall.
Chest 5 Location
In order to find the third chest, go to the left side of the map and head south for a short distance. You can find the exact location in the image down below.
When you have traveled to the exact place in the above minimap, go straight and you will be able to find yourself with a bountiful treasure chest. Enjoy the rewards!
Chest 6 Location
For the next chest location, you will need to go to the location to the right of the minimap just like the image down below. The 6th chest in the Backwater Pass region can only be obtained by completing the side quest “The Vessel of Mediocrity”. By finishing part 1 of the quest, you will be able to open the treasure chest.
In order to do the quest, you will need to talk to the mysterious girl found at the location. You will find that she has got lost and now you will need to help her.
After helping the Mysterious Girl, you will be able to obtain a bountiful treasure chest. Really simple right?
Chest 7 Location
The next chest can also be obtained from completing part one of the same quest “The Vessel of Mediocrity”. You will need to start another conversation with Cyrille in order to get the chest.
After you have completed the challenge, you will be rewarded with another bountiful treasure chest. Good luck!
Chest 8 Location
In order to find chest number 8, go to the location in the bottom side of the minimap.
After you get to the area, you will only need to walk a small distance to find yourself with a basic treasure chest. This treasure chest is placed in front of a wall, between a poster and some crates with a small lamp on it.
Chest 9 Location
For the next treasure chest in the Backwater Pass region, go to the bottom right area of the map. You can easily locate the place by looking at the image down below.
After you arrive at the destination, you will need to solve the puzzle “Check the circuit structure” by interacting with a broken robot. If you want to solve the puzzle, you will need to connect all the terminals in a way that resembles the image down below.
After you fix the robot “Automation Bumblebee”, you will need to follow it to move on to the next obstacle.
After a long while of following the “Automation Bumblebee” robot, you will be encountered with an obstacle. For the next step, you will need to interact with the Fragmentum to start a combat with it.
After you have achieved victory from the monster, keep following the flying robot until you find yourself with a Bountiful Treasure Chest.
Chest 10 Location
For the 10th chest in Honkai: Star Rail – Backwater Pass region, go to the area described down below.
After you arrive at the place, walk straight until you see a blue, big precious treasure chest located in between a poster and a lamp post.
Chest 11 Location
In order to find the next chest, go to the location in the south east corner of the minimap, just like the image down below.
Then, walk straight until you find a basic treasure chest which will give you some of those good rewards!
Chest 12 Location
In order to obtain the 12th chest in the Backwater Pass region, head west until you find yourself at the location highlighted in the minimap down below.
You will find yourself with a treasure chest to your right after you get to the area located in the minimap.
Chest 13 Location
For the next chest, it is located to the very east of the map as you can see down below.
Walk straight until you find the basic treasure chest sitting in the corner to your left.
Chest 14 Location
The last chest in this guide is a bit different as it can be only obtained through doing the “The Adventurous Moles” side quest. In order to take the quest, go to the location in Boulder Town as described in the minimap.
After you have gone to the location, you will need to head to the Palace of Astrum and meet with Yukong. Then, talk to Julian and take the quest.
After you take Julian’s quest, go back to the Backwater Pass area and to the area to the bottom right of the minimap.
Walk straight after you spawn and you will find yourself with the remaining table of contents of the storybook. Interact with it in order to collect the item and you will be ready to move on to the next step.
After you have collected the item, walk to your left to the area with chairs and tables. Then, until you find a small crate lying on the ground, you will need to interact with it by clicking “Lift up the seat” and “put it flat on the ground”.
Finally, you will be able to obtain a treasure chest by receiving the notification “New Treasure Can Be Obtained” in the middle of your screen. And that is all of the 14 treasure chests location you can find in the Backwater Pass area!
Warp Trotter Location
In order to find the Warp Trotter, head to the location in the image down below.
Walk straight after you get to the area. For the next step, you will need to interact with a Warp Trotter in order to start a fight.
