Night on the Great Mine is one of the Adventure Missions that players need to complete in Honkai: Star Rail. In this quest, you will talk to a Senior Cart Operator and pass his test in order to receive his rewards. To be eligible for the quest, you will need to be Trailblaze Level 14 and have already completed the Trailblaze Mission: Ones Fallen into the Abyss.
There are quests that have multiple parts in the game, such as Ring and Stage. It is the same for this quest because it involves three parts, each part having three Minecart Puzzles for you to solve. These puzzles can be difficult to solve because of the railway system. However, we have prepared all the information you need to complete this quest and get all those 9 rewards chests from 3 parts of the side quest.
How to Complete the Quest Night on the Great Mine
Night on the Great Mine – Part 1
In order to start the quest “Night on the Great Mine”, go to the area marked in the minimap down below.
After you have arrived at the destination, you will see Atonia – a Supervisor standing next to a crowd of people. Interact with her to start a conversation and you will be able to start the quest.
Next, in order to go to the next location, teleport to the Vagrant Shelter Teleport Waypoint.
After you have teleported, head East to the location of the Senior Mine Cart Operator. You will need to talk to him in order to start the puzzle. Complete the puzzle and obtain your rewards. There are a total of three puzzles to complete for Part 1.
Part 1 – First Puzzle
Follow the instructions we’re about to give you to solve the first puzzle. For the first step, you will need to go to the control device closest to the Senior Mine Cart Operator’s Location. Next, interact with it to change the path of the railway system.
After you have switched the track of that device, go to the location of the device on the other side to your right and perform the same action.
Next, go to the mine cart next to the device you just interacted with. Then, interact with it to push the mine cart.
After you push the mine cart, it will be moved to the desired location. That’s how you solve the first puzzle! Talk to the operator again and receive a reward chest that contains Stellar Jades, Travel Encounters, Credits and more rewards.
Part 1 – Second Puzzle
In order to solve the Second Puzzle for Part 1 of the quest, follow the steps we are about to give you. Firstly, you will need to push the yellow mine cart filled with ores.
Next, after you pushed the ore-filled mine cart, interact with the track switching device to change track.
Then, you will need to walk to the yellow mine cart with ores and push it again.
After you push the minecart again, walk to the track switching device behind you and interact with it. See the image down below for a detailed description.
After you have interacted with the device, walk to the other device on the other side and interact with it. We have marked it in the image down below so you can see the precise location.
Interact with it to switch track.
After you interact with the device on the other side, turn around. For the next step, after you turned around, you would be able to see an empty mine cart lying in the back. Push it and you will be able to solve the second puzzle.
Part 1 – Third Puzzle
After you complete the second puzzle, you will need to solve another last puzzle to finish part 1 of the quest. Talk to the mine cart operator again to start the third puzzle.
For the first thing that you need to do, walk to the empty mine cart and push it to the other side.
Next, you will need to interact with the device that we have marked for you in the image down below. Interact with it and you will be able to switch tracks.
After you interacted with the device and switched track, you would need to push the mine cart again to the ores area. This is the place where you can load ores onto your mine cart.
After you push it to the location, go to the new mine cart destination and interact with the load ores option on your screen.
Next, after you load your ores, push the minecart again by moving closer to the mine cart. See the image down below.
After you get to the new location after pushing the loaded cart, interact with the device sitting next to it to switch track.
After you switched the track of the device sitting next to the loaded cart, you will need to push the mine cart.
After you push the mine cart, it will be moved to the desired location. Then, you will have successfully completed the puzzle challenge.
For the final step, walk back to the Senior Mine Cart Operator’s Location and talk to him. After finishing the conversation, you will be given a Treasure Chest with some rewards in it.
Night on the Great Mine – Part 2
This side quest will automatically unlock after one day after you complete the Part 1 of the NIght on the Great Mine quest. The Part 2 quest is located at the same location you took Part 1 of the quest.
In order to start the quest, talk to the Senior Mine Cart Operator, and he will put you up for another second test.
Part 2 – First Puzzle
In order to solve the First Puzzle, walk to the track switching device that we have marked for you in the image down below. It is next to an empty mine cart.
After interacting with the device and changing tracks, you need to push the mine cart located next to it.
After pushing the empty mine cart, stay in that same area and look for a device to your left. Interact with the track device once to change tracks.
After changing tracks using the device, let’s move on to the next step. In this step, you will move your character to the cart loaded with ores. Interact with the yellow ore-filled cart to push it.
After you push the ore-loaded cart, follow it to the new location. Then, interact with the device next to it. See the image down below, the device should be on your right.
After interacting with the device in the above image, move your character to the empty cart. You will need to interact with the device next to the empty cart to change tracks.
After that, go back to the ore filled minecart and push it to the new location.
After pushing the ore-filled mine cart, follow it to the new location. Then, interact with the device we have marked for you in the image down below.
After that, go to the ore-filled mine cart again and push it after you have changed track using the device in the image above.
Congratulations! You have successfully completed the second puzzle. Next, talk to the Senior Mine Cart Operator to receive your Treasure Chest Reward and receive the next Puzzle Test.
Part 2 – Second Puzzle
In order to solve the Second Puzzle, first you need to interact with the track device next to the empty mine cart.
After changing track using the device, you will want to push the empty mine cart next to it.
After you push the mine cart, follow it to the new location. Next, interact with the device to your right at the new mine cart location. See the image down below, we have marked the precise location of the device for you to navigate.
After you activate the device next to the empty cart in the image above. Turn around and go back to the device behind you. The track changing device should be on the right side of your screen.
After you switch track of that device, go to the ore loaded track and push it.
After the cart is pushed, follow it to the new location. Next, you will want to interact with the device next to it at the new location.
Then, you will want push the yellow ores cart one more time.
After you push it, follow it until you find the device we marked for you on the right side of your screen.
After interacting with the device, go to the empty mine cart and push it.
Follow the empty mine cart to the new location. Next, interact with the device next to it. We have marked it for you in the image down below.
Next, after interacting with the device, push the empty mine cart one more time.
After pushing the mine cart, go to that device to your left. We have marked it for you in the image down below.
For the next step, please go to the device located opposite to the yellow ore filled mine cart. See the image down below for a more detailed description, we have marked it for you with a red square.
After you interact with the device opposite to the loaded mine cart, go to the cart and push it to the new location. And you have finally completed the puzzle!
In order to obtain your rewards, talk to the Senior Mine Cart Operator and begin the next round of testing, which is the third puzzle for you to solve.
Part 2 – Third Puzzle
In the first step of solving the third puzzle, you will want to go to the location of the loaded cart and push it.
After you push the ore-loaded cart, follow it to its new location. When you get there, you will see a device to your right. Interact with the device to change tracks, we have marked it for you in the image down below.
After interacting with the device, go to the loaded cart and push it.
After you push the loaded cart, you will see a device located in the middle of its way. You want to interact with this device to change the rail track.
Next, go to the empty mine cart and push it.
After you push the empty mine cart, go to the location of the device that we have marked for you in the image down below.
Then, go to the empty mine cart’s new location and push it.
After you push the empty mine cart, follow the cart to its new location. Next, you will want to load ores onto it by interacting with the option that says “Load Ores”.
After you have loaded the cart, push it.
After you push the mine cart, look to your right. You should be able to spot a device to the right of your character. Interact with the device to change the rail track.
Next, go to the mine cart that you just loaded with ores and push it. The cart is next to the device you just interacted with.
Follow the cart to its new location. After you get there, you will find a device located next to the mine cart, on the left. Interact with the device to change tracks.
After you interacted with the device, push the mine cart again.
Follow the minecart you just pushed to its new location. After that, you will be able to find a device located to the right of it. Interact with this device to change tracks, we have marked it in the image down below.
Next, go to the other minecart to your right and push it. And that is the last step, you have completed the third puzzle.
Finally, talk to the Senior Mine Cart Operator to receive a Precious Chest reward. You will receive some Stellar Jades, 1 Condensed Aether and some Credits.
Night on the Great Mine – Part 3
In order to start Part 3 of Night on the Great Mine quest, talk to the same Senior Mine Cart Operator in the same location. The requirements is the same as Part 2, which means you need to wait another day after completing the previous part in order to unlock it.
Part 3 – First Puzzle
First, you need to go to the empty mine cart and push it.
Next, go to the device next to the cart’s new location and interact with it. Please take note that you need to interact with the device TWICE. Make sure that the light on the track that is on the right is lighted.
Then, push the empty mine cart again to push it to the new location.
Next, go to the cart loaded with yellow ores and push it by interacting.
After pushing the loaded mine cart, do not follow it to the new location. Instead, you want to look to your right and try to spot a device. Interact with it to change paths, we have marked it for you in the image down below.
Then, go to the empty mine cart’s location and push it into the corner.
Next, go to the device in front of the loaded mine cart and interact with it TWICE. For more detailed information, you want the middle path to be lighted in order to push the loaded cart to the end of the railway.
Next, push the loaded cart into the very end of the railway, you will see a yellow cart icon in front of you.
Next, interact with the device next to you TWICE. You will want the path that leads to the left to be lighted yellow.
Next, go to the mine cart that is loaded with ores behind your character. Interact with it to push it to the end of the railway to your left. See the image down below for the exact location where the mine cart should be.
Next, run all the way to the location of the empty mine cart and load it with ores by interacting with one of the options.
For the next step, you will want to push the mine cart that you have just loaded with ores to its new location.
Then, follow your mine cart to its new location. At that specific area, you will be able to locate a track changing device in front of it. In the image down below, you will see the exact location of the device. Please note that you need to interact with it TWICE for the path to the right to be lighted yellow.
Next, push the mine cart to the end of the railway. And that is the end of the first puzzle of Part 3 – Night on the Great Mine quest.
After you completed the puzzle challenge, talk to the Senior Mine Cart Operator to receive your reward. Your reward for this puzzle will be a Treasure Chest which contains from of the basic rewards such as Stellar Jades, EXP, Shield and more.
Part 3 – Second Puzzle
In order to complete the Second Puzzle, please go to the track changing device located in the middle of the whole puzzle. For the exact location, take a look at the image down below for a better view of what it looks like.
Next, go to the mine cart that is to your left and push it to a new location. This mine cart is located in front of the Senior Mine Cart Operator and his Apprentice.
Next, go to the two locations that we have marked in the image down below. You will need to interact with each and every one of them once to change the paths to the desired state.
After you interact with the second (2) device that we have marked in the image above, go to the third one and interact with it. See the image down below.
For the next step, you need to go to the empty mine cart’s location and push it by interacting.
After you push the empty minecart to its new location, move to the track changing device near you. See the damage down below. Interact with it to change paths.
For the next step, go to the ores loaded mine cart to your left from the image above. Then, you will want to push it to its new location.
Next, go to the device located next to the Senior Mine Cart Operator, and interact with it once to change the railtrack.
Next, go to the device located in front of the tents with some children near it. You can to interact with this device once.
Next, after interacting with the device, you want to go behind the cart that we have marked in the image down below. After you go behind it, interact with it to push it to a new location.
Next, you will want to go to the device in front of the Senior Mine Cart Operator and his Apprentice. Then, interact with the device once to change track.
After that, your next step is to go to the place of the empty mine cart and push it. The empty mine cart is next to the ore-filled mine cart in the image above, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find. Take a look at the image down below for its exact location.
For your next step, interact with the track changing device located in front of the tents. See the image down below.
Then, go to the empty mine cart and push it.
After you push the empty mine cart, interact with the device on your left that we have marked in the image down below. After you interact with the device near your current location, move to the device located in front of the Senior Mine Cart Operator and interact with it as well.
Then, interact with the mine cart next to the device in front of the Senior Cart Operator. After that, the cart will be pushed to its new location.
After you pushed the mine cart to its new location, you will want to interact with the device in the middle to change paths. Then, push the cart that we have marked for you in the image down below and the puzzle will be completed.
In order to obtain the rewards, go to the Senior Mine Cart Operator’s location and start a conversation with him. He will then reward you with a Bountiful Treasure Chest. This chest contains some Stellar Jades, Adventure Logs, Shields, some Credits and more.
Part 3 – Third Puzzle
This is the final puzzle that you need to solve for the quest chain. Here are our instructions on how you can solve the final puzzle in Part 3 of the Night on the Great Mine quest. This last puzzle is long and complicated, so follow each and every single step so you do not get lost.
First, interact with the device in front of the tents area with children.
Then, interact with the device in the middle of the whole puzzle area.
Next, go to the mine cart with a woman standing near it. Go behind the cart and push it to its new destination.
For the next step, interact with the devices in front of the tents one more time.
Then, you will want to push the ore-filled minecart that is located in front of the tents area.
After that, go to the device in the middle, located in front of the Senior Mine Cart Operator and interact with it once.
Then, go to the device in front of the tents area and interact with it to change tracks.
For the next step, you will want to go behind the cart next to the woman and push it to a new location.
After that, go to the device located in the middle of the puzzle area, in front of the Senior Mine Cart Operator.
Next, go to the two empty carts and try to push the empty cart that is in front of the other one. It can take multiple attempts because they are very close to each other, but it won’t take you long.
Next, interact with the device located in front of the tents area and near the children.
After that, go to the empty minecart that is next to the woman in the back and opposite of the children.
For the next step, follow the empty mine cart to its new location. Then, load ores onto it by interacting with one of the options. After that, push the minecart one more time.
Next, follow it to its new location one more time. Then you will see a device on your right, interact with it to change paths.
Next, go to that mine cart in front of you in the above image, and push it one more time.
For the next step, follow the mine cart to its new location. Then, you should be able to find a device located to its left at the new destination. Interact with the device once in order to change paths. After interacting with the device, go to the back of the cart and push it to its new destination. After you push the cart, interact with the device one more time to change the paths to its original state.
Then, push the empty mine cart to its new location, after you’ve interacted with the device the way we mentioned in the above image.
Next, follow the empty cart to its new destination. Then, you will notice a device to your right. For more information, it is located in front of the tents area with the children.
After you have interacted with the device, push the empty cart to its new destination. The next thing you want to do is to load ores onto it and then push it one more time.
In the next step, go to the device located in the middle of the puzzle area (see the image down below). Then, go to the cart that we have marked and push it to its new location. After that, interact with the same device again, and push the same cart one more time so that it goes to the desired destination. Congratulations, you’ve completed all 9 puzzles of the Night on the Great Mine Quest!
After that, talk to the Senior Mine Cart Operator to receive your rewards. This time, you will be rewarded with a Precious Treasure Chest. The chest contains x1 Condensed aether, some Stellar Jades, EXP and 5000 Credits. You will also unlock an achievement called Sisyphus of the Mines.
And that is all of the information we have gathered to help you complete all 9 puzzles from all 3 parts of the Night on the Great Mine quest. It can be really tricky to complete all the puzzles, however, if you follow each step correctly, you will be able to solve the puzzle quickly.
