In Honkai: Star Rail, domains mean quite differently from the domains in Genshin Impact. But in a way, they’re the same in that they function the same as the one-time domains. Once you clear them, you will get rewards that include Stellar Jades, unlike the Calyx Buds that offer materials, EXPs, and so on.
Signs of Fragmentum (Domain of Excursion) is one such domain in Honkai: Star Rail. But unlike domains in Genshin Impact that can be unlocked at any point in time, this domain can only be unlocked once you finish a set of quest. And it can be a bit confusing because the quest that’s tied to this isn’t necessarily required to progress the plot, so if you’re not the type to dwell in all the side quests, you might just miss it.
How to Unlock Signs of Fragmentum
Signs of Fragmentum (Domain of Excursion) is unlocked when you’re doing the subquest ‘Signs of Fragmentum.’ This subquest is part of Asta’s Companion Mission ‘You Already Know Me’ and can only be triggered when your Trailblaze level hits the minimum 22. A group text that badmouths Asta will come in and start the quest.
At a point in the mission, you will be asked to find Pamela in a closed-off area in the Storage Zone. Talk to the Security Department Member who will then let you in. You’ll be prompted the interface to enter the Domain of Excursion for the first time.
At this point you cannot change the difficulty in the domain yet. You will have to finish your first run and then continue with the ‘Signs of Fragmentum’ quest. After you’re done with the Companion Mission, you will be asked again to enter the area to find beacon data, which is the same domain, but at Difficulty I.
This is when you can start looking at higher difficulty and progress one level after another for the reward! Finish the domain and make sure to also finish the objectives for that extra reward. Then you’ll be able to access the domain again at higher difficulties for even better loot!
