How to Watch YouTube Videos While Playing PS5 Games

Gaming on the PS5 has been amazing and just about anyone who’s done it can vouch for this. But what’s going to make that even better is if people can multitask on the gaming station as well. Sometimes, you just want to watch YouTube videos while playing on your PS5 for the walkthrough. Or you just want that extra background noise while playing a casual game.

Whichever it is, you just cannot be bothered to have another screen running just for this purpose. Why should you if you can do everything on your PS5?

How To Watch YouTube Videos While Playing On PS5

You can play the YouTube videos while gaming on PS5 by using the Pin to Side feature. But we’ll have to start with helping you how you can open the web browser for YouTube if you haven’t figured that one out. Alternatively, you can skip this part if you know the method already.

The first is by heading to the Settings, then under the Network tab, click View PlayStation Network Status.

Once you’ve opened the page, scroll down and click on the YouTube logo that’ll take you to PlayStation Network official YouTube page. And there you go!

You can use your Voice command or type on the address bar and start watching YouTube this way.

Alternatively, you can head over to your friend’s message and then send them a YouTube link. Clicking that link alone will direct you to the web browser immediately.

Now, once the page pops up, here’s what you need to do. Click the burger menu icon that says Options and you’ll find the Pin to Side feature. Use this and you’ll have what’s equal to the split-screen feature on mobile devices.

This is what it’ll look like when you use this feature. To swap back to the YouTube video card, press the PlayStation button twice. You can then use the YouTube as usual and resize it to get a better view on the page before going back to your game.
