Derelict – Salt Mines Guide | Iron Ore Location

Souls games aren’t always about fat rolling and throwing your controller towards the wall very hard when you lose, sometimes it’s about gathering resources as well, as weird as that may sound. And what better resource to have on hand than Iron?

Information is a valuable commodity these days in Derelict, and if you’re one of the new players roaming around in search of Iron ore then you’ve come to the right place! Keep on reading the guide to find both the Salt Mines and the Iron Ore that you’ve been looking for!

Salt Mines Guide | Iron Ore Location

The entrance to the Salt Mines can be found in the Desolate Valley area. To get there, you can make use of the fast travel point over at the Feeding Grounds and head northwest. Unlike Fort Hollow where the way going there is pretty straightforward, the entrance to the mines will have you go off the path. You still have the dinosaur bones as a landmark though so you won’t get lost anytime soon.

Starting from the bonsai tree, follow the light brown trail going northwest. It’ll start leaning to the left as soon as you descend the hill, at this point you’re mostly heading west on your way down.

Once you’re at the very bottom, you’ll come across a T-junction. It’s time to go off the path now, keep going northwest and turn right when you get past this tree in the image below.

Don’t run too fast on your way down, otherwise you’ll start taking in fall damage, which usually leads to death. Keep running to the north as soon as you clear the first hill. Another steep drop will show up shortly, do a little tumble and start heading directly west as soon as you’re at the bottom.

Stay next to the escarpment while going west and you’ll eventually come across the entrance to the Salt Mines. You can come back here later if there’s one too many players mining the same resource, but for now we’ll take you in deeper so you’ll know where to go.

You can find the iron ore next to a dimly lit area not too deep into the mines. As soon as you clear the entrance, you’ll see a path made out of sand. That will lead into a small body of water to the left. Once you see that area, turn right and you’ll see some orange rocks where you can mine the ore.
