A lot of fans of the franchise have been confused with the new Tunnels of Terror DLC as, unlike conventional DLCs, it doesn’t show you a separate menu to switch to the new content. While the game doesn’t do a good job of explaining it to the playerbase, it’s actually pretty simple once you figure it out.
How To Start Tunnels Of Terror DLC & Replay Hives Fast – Back 4 Blood
First thing’s first, you need to make sure that you’ve actually purchased the DLC or either of the Deluxe and Ultimate editions of the game. Once this is settled, boot up the game and start a campaign. You would notice that nothing has changed in the menus, no new acts or areas that you can explore but that’s perfectly normal.
The game applies the DLC in a big, one-off way into the existing game’s assets, making it an add-on for maps rather than a whole branch of new content. This may be disappointing for some people who wanted a fresh area to explore but trust me, at least that part will be satisfied by this DLC.
Any act that has a mark that says Ridden Hives found at the top right of the area’s information (as shown in the image above), means that you have successfully activated the DLC. You will have access to a lot of new monsters, skins and two new cleaners.
Sharice and Heng have passive abilities of their own, and we would advise to take them both if you want fast runs of each hive. Sharice senses warped Riddens easily while Heng can sense Ridden Hives at a distance. Both are invaluable if you want speedy runs and reclears of each Hive.
Have fun with the new expansion and watch out for startled Hags!
