Black Clover M: Updated Black Asta Guide & Build | Skills, Gear, Talents

Black Clover M is the official Black Clover mobile game that has recently just entered Season 4 (for Global users). In Season 4, there are a ton of new content that will keep players busy as they play the game. But there are also some changes that affect some characters. One of those characters is Black Asta, a variant of Asta that uses powerful magic.

Thanks to the recent update, Black Asta has undergone some changes that may have changed how he plays in the game. In this guide, I will show you the best updated Black Asta build, as well as the brand-new changes to his kit.

Black Asta Guide & Build

As stated before, Black Asta has gotten a little tweak to his kit and how he works for Global release. Our previous Black Asta guide may be a bit outdated now, but there are some things that are still the same.

Skills

Black Asta is an SSR Power Defender, which makes him a powerhouse as both a tank and a DPS unit. However, he doesn’t act as a Defender to his allies.

He mostly prioritizes himself, especially when he has Anti-Magic inflicted on himself. When he does, he can do a lot of buffs to himself while also debuffing his enemies.

Here are Black Asta’s skills and what they do:

• Demon Slayer Sword
  • Strikes down an enemy with the Demon-Slayer Sword, dealing damage.
    • If [Anti-Magic] is present on self, grants self +8 [Increased Special Points].
    • If [Anti-Magic] is not present on self, inflicts [Block HP Recovery] on an enemy for 2 turn(s).
      • Lv. 2: Skill ATK +6%
      • Lv. 3: Skill ATK +6%
      • Lv. 4: Skill ATK +6%
      • Lv. 5: Skill ATK +6%
• Black Hurricane
  • Asta creates a black hurricane while holding the Demon-Slayer Sword, dealing damage to all enemies.
    • If [Anti-Magic] is present on self, attacks after [Dispelling Barrier] from a designated enemy.
    • If [Anti-Magic] is not present on self, grants all allies an [Increased DEF Lv. 3] buff for 2 turn(s).
    • Grants all allies a [Total Defense] buff for 2 turn(s). (Enhanced version only)
      • Lv. 2: Skill ATK +8%
      • Lv. 3: Skill ATK +8%
      • Lv. 4: Skill ATK +8%
      • Lv. 5: Skill ATK +8%
• Black Meteorite
  • Delivers a blow imbued with the energy of Anti-Magic, dealing damage to an enemy.
    • If [Anti-Magic] is present on self, attacks after [Dispelling Barrier] from the enemy.
    • If [Anti-Magic] is not present on self, inflicts [Taunt] on an enemy for 2 turn(s).
      • Lv. 2: Skill ATK +25%
      • Lv. 3: Skill ATK +25%
      • Lv. 4: Skill ATK +25%
      • Lv. 5: Skill ATK +25%
• Combined Attack
  • Performs a combined attack with your partner, dealing damage to an enemy.
    • Inflicts [Stun] on the enemy for 1 turn(s) .
      • Lv. 2: Skill ATK +5%
      • Lv. 3: Skill ATK +5%
      • Lv. 4: Skill ATK +5%
      • Lv. 5: Skill ATK +5%
• Passive
  • LR+2: When activating [Anti-Magic], [Taunt] all enemies for 1 turn.
  • LR+5: When activating [Anti-Magic], [Taunt] all enemies for 1 turn and apply [Status Ailment Immunity] to all allies for 1 turn.
• Unique Passive
  • If HP is equal to or lower than 40%, applies [Anti-Magic] to self. If HP is above 40%, removes [Anti-Magic] from self.
    • Anti-Magic: Per 1,500 DEF, grants 15% [Increased DMG Dealt] and immunity to [Status Ailments].

Gear

Black Asta is a powerful unit by himself, so we don’t need to increase his ATK or anything like that. But who says no to a little more power, right? The best gear we can give for Black Asta is a combination of ATK, DEF, and Speed.

With an increased ATK and Speed, Black Asta can decimate his opponents quickly. And if they do attack him, his DEF will allow him to tank those hits and keep him standing.

Ideally, we will want to have at least 3 LR ATK gear pieces, 2 LR DEF gear pieces, and 2 Speed gear pieces. However, we can also do 2 LR AT gear pieces and 3 Speed gear pieces instead, as he already is a powerful unit with high ATK stats.

Talents

For Black Asta’ Talents, the focus will be to primarily increase his damage output while also increasing his ability to survive in a fight.

His Attack Talents will be primarily just for increasing his ATK stats and increasing the DMG he can do, while his Defense Talents and Support Talents will be to increase his DEF and grant him some buffs to help him fight against the debuffs his opponents might give him.

Here are the best Talents for Black Asta to use:

• Attack Talents
  • Increased ATK – [ATK] +7%
  • Sharp Mind – [DMG Dealt] +5%
• Defense Talents
  • Increased DEF – DEF +20%
  • Iron Will – Grants [Debuff Immunity] for 1 turn(s) if HP is equal to or lower than 35%.
• Support Talents
  • Resolution – Grants [Debuff Immunity] for 1 turn(s) upon resisting damage successfully.
  • Increased ACC and PEN – [ACC] +5%, [PEN] +5%

Skill Pages & Teams

With Black Asta being a unit that can deal a ton of damage, we can either go two ways for his Skill Pages. On one hand, we can increase his damage to make him a bigger menace on the battlefield. On the other, we can take a break from giving him too much power and increase his chances to survive a fight.

Here are the best Skill Pages for Black Asta to use:

• SSR Skill Pages
  • The Power of the Unknown
    • If [Anti-Magic] is present on self, grants 10/25% [Increased DMG Dealt] to self per 1500 DEF.
  • Survival of the Fittest
    • Applies 4/8% [Fortify] to yourself upon taking damage. (Stacks up to 4 time(s) and the effect resets at the start of each turn).
