With the first season of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, comes new missions for players to go through.
These missions follow more of a loose story compared to the usual ones you do for dailies in the game.
One of the missions you’ll get is the Bad Signal Mission where you’ll need to open a Dark Aether Rift. You’ll need to collect a couple of items first to open it!
How To Open The Dark Aether Rift
One of the main missions that you’ll do in the first season of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Zombies is Bad Signal.
You’ll get a Locked Diary, and you’ll need to find more items to open a Dark Aether Rift.
First, you’ll need to go to the Dark Aether Rift location which should be marked on your map.
When you get to the area, you’ll find these Pedestals. Each Pedestal needs a specific item to activate.
Once all of them are activated, the Dark Aether Rift will open. The main bulk of this mission is collecting those items.
Here are all the items you’ll need to place on each Pedestal. Make sure to check out our guides on them if you’re having trouble finding them:
- Snowflake Pedestal – Locked Diary
- Lightning Pedestal – Surveillance Camera
- Fire Pedestal – Dog Collar
- Skull Pedestal – Pill Bottle
NOTE: The Pedestals can be a bit buggy. Make sure to check if you can interact with them before placing all the items and taking buffs. If you can’t interact with them, restart the game.
Most of the items you’ll need will be of the purple rarity and can’t be placed on the pedestals.
In each guide, we show you how to turn those items into the gold rarity that you’ll need to activate them.
All of them require you to go through an Aether Tear and do a difficult unique contract.
Once you have all the items and can interact with the pedestals, place the items and get your buffs going. Once all the items are placed the Dark Aether Rift will open!
That’s how you can open the Dark Aether Rift in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Zombies. Now, go out there and try it out yourself.
