A lot of games these days don’t just stop in raw damage, they have to add even more damage types for players to play with from the all-too-common fire damage to stuff like ‘true damage’ or whatever fancy words they use.
In Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, they make things simple as they have a previous game to follow. In the game your weapons can have different damage types and some of them aren’t explained very well.
In this guide, we’ll show you what each damage type does in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor. Now, let’s see what these damage types are so you know what to use!
All Damage Types Explained
At the start of the game, you might not have to worry about damage types. When you go through and increase your player ranks, does it become a mechanic? The answer is Yes. That’s because certain weapons and grenades have different damage types for you to use.
SIDE NOTE: Some of the weapons can get overclocks by increasing their weapon levels.
These are all of the damage types that you can get in Deep Rock Galactic and what they do:
- Cold – This damage type slows down enemies and sometimes freezes them in place.
- Fire – This damage type deals damage over time to enemies that are burning.
- Acid – This damage type is a debuff that makes enemies take more damage.
- Plasma – Projectiles with this damage type bounce off walls and bugs.
- Electric – This damage type gives electricity that will bounce off bugs damaging other bugs nearby. It also increases critical chance and damage.
As you can see, there are a lot of them for you to play around and some of them might be familiar to fans of the first game. The earliest you can get is either the cold damage from the Scout’s grenades or the Electric damage from one of his main weapons.
