While you’re playing Dinkum you might have had a chance to pick up a lot of stuff from mining. There’s a lot of mining to be done in this game, and it rewards you with a lot of materials, especially inside the deep mines. Sometimes though, you get shiny stones, which at first just look like slightly more expensive stones, but they actually have goodies inside! Let’s find out how to open shiny stones.
How To Open Shiny Stones In Dinkum
First, where do you get shiny stones? You get them from mining, usually from stone or ore lying about on your island. If you want to get these stones then better start hitting every stone you see with your pick, because the drop rate is pretty rare!
Once you have a handful of stones, or in my case more than a handful, you need to go to the store and buy yourself a Stone Grinder.
You can buy them from the store once you’ve upgraded their tent to an actual building. It might take a while but it’s well worth it since it unlocks a lot of things, including the metal detector!
Now that you have a stone grinder, just place them down somewhere. Usually, I keep them in a neat place in the corner of the town, but for this guide, I placed some on a flat beach. Once you’ve placed them down, select your shiny stone and left-click on them to chuck them in there!
Grinding shiny stones usually yield either tin, copper or iron ore. A great way to round out your ore stacks if you ever need them. If you’re really lucky though, a shiny stone might give you an opal, those can sell for pretty high so it’s worth grinding these stones for it!
And that’s how you crack open shiny stones, now go out there and start grinding them! The island’s debt isn’t going to pay itself!
