Endwalker Samurai is one of the most played classes in FFXIV. You are wielding a Katana Samurai sword and slashing and hacking with the speed of light – how awesome is that! In this guide, we will be giving you an overall guide on how to play one better. Let’s get started.

Endwalker Samurai Guide | Patch 6.2 – FFXIV

The Samurai is a DPS type of class that you can play in FFXIV. You will be focusing on dealing tons of damage in no matter what type of raid party you might be. Stay out of danger and then just strike and damage the bosses or enemy mobs from the sides.

Gauge

The most important thing that you need to worry about when playing the Samurai in FFXIV is the Guage. This gauge can go all the way from 0 to 100. The more that you have the more you will be able to cast skills and do damage to your enemies.

It will allow you to use certain abilities and combine them with one another. The other very important part is the Sin.

These 3 symbols that you see here can be generated by using a different 1, or 1-2-3 combo. Once you do more of them you will be able to do more powerful Iatsu attacks.

Abilities & Rotation

Once you get to level 90 you will have a lot of skills to choose from. There are a lot of things to consider when doing these skills but this here is the best possible rotation that you need to use:

You will have the Meiyko Shisui and True North as the back. Then you will do the skills in this order:

  • Gekko > Current Tincture of Strenght > Kaisha > Ikishoten > Yukikaze > Midare Setsugekka > Hissatsu: Sensei > Kaeshi: Setsugekka > Meikyo Shisui > Gekko > Hissatsu: Shinten > Higanbana > Hissatsu: Shinken > Ogi Namkrii > Shoha > Kaeshi: Namikiri > Kasha > Hissatsu: Shintes > Geeko > Hissatsu: Gyoten > Hakaze > Yukikaze > Hissatsu: Shinten > Midare Setsugekka > Kaeshi: Setsugekka

Utility & Mitigation

Although you will use the skills in the order that is shown above, you will have an extra type of skills and abilities that will help you out and actually heal you. They are crucial when you are playing a samurai so here we will mention the most important ones:

  • Second Wind – heals you a lot and you need to use it as much as possible
Source – Juliacare
  • Leg Sweep – it will stun a target. Stunning a target is necessary when doing a Samurai because you can throw out a lot of dmg to them

  • Bloodbath – you will give your HP to transfer into a physical type of damage. This is extremely good when combined with the stun
Source – Juliacare
  • Arm’s Lenght – it creates a barrier that will be around you and it will nullify all the knockbacks. This is what makes the samurai very flexible and agile.
