Hades 2: All Reagents Location & How To Get Them

As part of your Hades 2 experience, you’ll need to use certain items so that you can progress through the game. One category of items that you’ll see in the game are Reagents. These Reagents play a vital role for a lot of gameplay elements that you’ll be undertaking.

Reagents can be used as ingredients for your incantations, as currency for Arcana, and for upgrading Nocturnal Arms and their aspects in the game. As a result, you’ll need to be familiar with all of them to progress. Let’s dive in and see all the Reagents, including how to get them and where to find them!

All Reagents Location

Reagents are not the only items you’ll need in Hades 2. There are just such an overwhelming amount of items that you’ll need in the game. So, check out our All Indulgences Locations Guide, so you can keep track of these additional items too.

There are a total of 23 Reagents currently in Hades 2 and each of them fall into a total of four categories. We’ll be looking at what each of them are, how you can acquire them and where to find them. So, if you ever need an item, we recommend you refer to the Table of Contents below.

NOTE: Some ore and common reagents can be obtained during runs through various NPCs. These NPCs include Narcissus, Charon and Poseidon.

Ores

In Hades 2, ores are incantations that you’ll be using for many of the incantations in Hades 2. Additionally, there are also needed for upgrading and unlocking Nocturnal Arms.

Silver

Silver is used mostly for weapons. Here’s how to get it:

  • Use the Crescent Pick item on Ore Deposits in the Erebus Region location.

Limestone

Limestone is used in incantations for foundation and steadiness. Here’s how to get it:

  • Use the Crescent Pick item on Ore Deposits in the Oceanus Region location.

Glassrock

Glassrock is used in incantations for tension and negativity. Here’s how to get it:

  • Use the Crescent Pick item on Ore Deposits in the Mourning Fields Region location.

Marble

Marble is used in incantations for control and stability. Here’s how to get it:

  • Use the Crescent Pick item on Ore Deposits in the Tartarus Region location.

Bronze

Bronze is used mostly for weapons. Here’s how to get it:

  • Use the Crescent Pick item on Ore Deposits in the Ephyra Region location.

Iron

Iron is used in incantations for courage and confidence. Here’s how to get it:

  • Use the Crescent Pick item on Ore Deposits in the Rift of Thessaly Region location.

Plasma

Limestone is used in incantations for formlessness and change. Here’s how to get it:

  • Use the Crescent Pick item on Ore Deposits in the Chaos Region location.

Common Reagents

Common Reagents are also used as ingredients for incantations in Hades 2. Additionally, you can also use them as currency for Arcana.

Bones

Bones are Reagents that serve as the main currency that you can use to purchase items from The Wretched Broker NPC. Here’s how to get them:

  • Obtain as a common reward for beating Encounters
  • Get for selling items to The Wretched Broker NPC
  • Also obtained by using Grave Thirst Weapons.

Ashes

Ashes are ingredients that are mostly just used for upgrading your Arcana in Hades 2. Here’s how you can get them:

  • Obtain as a common reward for beating Encounters
  • Also purchase from The Wretched Broker for x15 Bones
  • Buy from Charon’s Rewards Shop. You can get x20 Ashes for spending x1 Obol Point after completing 20 Whiles or Encounters.

Psyche

Psyche is an ingredient that is mostly just used for increasing your Grasp in Hades 2. Here’s how you can get it:

  • Obtain as a common reward for beating Encounters
  • Also obtain by compelling Lost Shades using the Tablet of Peace incantation tool
  • Purchase from The Wretched Broker and get 5 for x30 Bones.
  • Buy from Charon’s Rewards Shop. You can get x80 Psyche for spending x2 Obol Points after completing 40 Whiles or Encounters.

Moon Dust

Moon Dust is an ingredient that is mostly just used for upgrading your Arcana in Hades 2. Here’s how you can get it:

  • Create by using alchemy brew recipes like Moonlit Essence at the Cauldron
  • Also purchase from The Wretched Broker for x80 Bones.
  • Buy from Charon’s Rewards Shop. You can get x8 Moon Dust for spending x4 Obol Points after completing 80 Whiles or Encounters.

Fate Fabric

Fate Fabric is used in incantations for chance and fortune. Here’s how to get it:

  • Obtain as a drop from Arachne
  • Also purchase from The Wretched Broker for x60 Bones.
  • Buy from Charon’s Rewards Shop. You can get x10 Fate Fabric for spending x3 Obol Points after completing 60 Whiles or Encounters.

Other Reagents in Hades 2 are used for a variety of incantations. Additionally, they can be used for the strong Nocturnal Arms and Arcana Upgrades in the game too.

Shadow

Shadow is used in incantations for soul and defiance. Here’s how to get it:

  • Created by using alchemy brew recipes at the Cauldron.

Darkness

Darkness is used in incantations for void and the abyss. Here’s how to get it:

  • Can be gathered as a resource by traveling to Chaos using the Chaos Gate.

Star Dust

Star Dust is mostly used for powerful Arcana upgrades in Hades 2. Here’s how to get it:

  • Obtain from clearing Chaos Trails
  • Also purchase from The Wretched Broker for x800 Bones.

Nightmare

Nightmare is mostly used for powerful Arcana upgrades in Hades 2. Here’s how to get it:

  • Obtain from completing Fear Runs
  • Also purchase from The Wretched Broker for x1000 Bones.

Rubbish

Rubbish is a reagent that can be used for the Colony of Bats incantation. Here’s how you can get this ‘valuable’ reagent:

  • Clean up after Eris when she occasionally after each run of death later in the game.

Boss Rewards

There are certain reagents in Hades 2 that are only obtainable as rewards for defeating bosses. They can be used for stronger incantations and upgrading certain aspects of your Nocturnal Arms.

Cinder

Cinder is used in incantations for fire and preservation. Here’s how you can get it:

  • Obtained as reward for defeating the Hecate (or Guardian of Erebus) Boss.

Pearl

Pearl is used in incantations for luminance and perfection. Here’s how you can get it:

  • Obtained as reward for defeating the Scylla (or Guardian of Oceanus) Boss.

Tears

Tears are used in incantations for spirit and sorrow. Here’s how you can get them:

  • Obtained as reward for defeating the Cerberus (or Guardian of Mourning Fields) Boss.

Z-Sand (Zodiac Sand)

Z-Sand is used in incantations for inevitability and decay. Here’s how you can get it:

  • Obtained as reward for defeating the Chronos (or Guardian of Tartarus) Boss.

Wool

Wool is used in incantations for coarseness and touch. Here’s how you can get it:

  • Obtained as reward for defeating the Polyphemus (or Guardian of the City of Ephyra) Boss.

Golden Apple

Golden Apple is used in incantations for beauty and fertility. Here’s how you can get it:

  • Obtained as reward for defeating the Eris (or Guardian of the Rift of Thessaly) Boss.
