Hades 2 is a single player rogue dungeon crawler game just like its prequel. Except this time, you are faced with dangers residing in a bigger mythic Underworld that introduces us to a new playable character named Melinoë who’s the immortal princess of the Underworld. In the game, you also play as a gardener tending to your garden. The plants are needed for spellcasting and upgrades. Without seeds, however, there cannot be any plants. Let’s see how to get seeds.
How To Get Seeds
To get Seeds, the main thing you need to do is have a spade on you. Many seeds can also be extracted by hand but you also don’t want to be short on equipment when you uncover a chance to dig up a rare seed so start by getting that spade!
Go over to the gathering tools and craft your Silver Spade. The spade requires ten Silver ore to craft. Once you do that, go up to your spade and collect, then equip it.
To actually acquire some seeds with your spade, all you have to do is go out on a nightly run, either to the surface or to the underworld. Digging up soil patches during the run will give you seeds. You can use these seeds to grow plants in the garden.
Each area has different seeds. When you visit an area and find dirt plots or mining spots in the ground, dig them up to collect some seeds.
Here is a list of Seeds in Hades 2 and where to find them.

To plant these seeds, you first need a plot. Let’s look at how you unlock soil plots to grow useful plants needed for spellcasting and upgrading.
How to Unlock Plantation Plots
Melinoe has an entire garden but before she can use it, she needs to unlock soil plots.
You can unlock soil plants through incantation. If you haven’t unlocked these specific incantations yet, no worries! All you have to do is simply keep playing the game and talking to every character with an exclamation point over their heads. Incantations will unlock eventually for you.
Here are the three incantations needed along with the recipe.
- Flourishing Soil: 1 Moly
- Rich Soil: 3 Lotus
- Verdant Soil: 1 Wheat, 1 Garlic
Each incantation will add two whole Soil Plots to Melinoe’s garden, making a total of six plots. Now you can take your seeds and plant them in the plots for them to grow into beautiful and useful plants!
