At some point, you wonder what are the security guards of the Space Station really doing if you’re cleaning up all their mess. But as with any Hoyoverse game, you’re probably now used to being the most and only reliable worker, fighter, and errand boy/girl! And in Honkai: Star Rail there’s no escaping that.
‘Signs of Fragmentum’ here refers to the subquest that’s part of Asta’s Companion Mission, ‘You Alread Know Me.’ It is also the sole mission under The Dawn After the Dark chapter and is a required step to finish the Companion Mission itself.
Signs of Fragmentum Guide
The entire subquest takes place at the Storage Zone within the blocked-off area and here are what you need to do:
- Inquire the current status of the blocked-off area with nearby staff members
- Head to the power supply room and collect the backup batteries
- Hand over the backup batteries and restart the elevator
- Take the elevator to the lower zone
- Defeat the monster and save Pamela
- Find out who the anonymous person is from Pamela
To recap, there were rumors that quickly spread among researchers and members on the Space Station that Asta was misappropriating funds and you were somehow added to the group chat as well. Upon investigation, the Gossipmonger, who might have a clue to the perpetrator, happened to be trapped in an area that’s being swamped by monsters.
At this point of the quest, you need to speak with the Security Department member to be allowed to enter the area. After talking to him, you’ll notice that you’re prompted with party setup page instead of just strolling in. This is because you won’t get to change your party members so make sure you’re bringing the right characters.
Signs of Fragmentum (Domain of Excursion)
Once inside, talk to another security member and you’ll be informed that the elevator cannot be used and you need to find 3 backup batteries. Your minimap function is disabled in this domain as well.
Run southeast where you can find a backup battery, always remember you cannot interact if you’ve aggroed an enemy. Head out of here, then run northeast and in the first room, the battery is on the bottom corner right. You’ll find the last battery further down the same corridor guarded by a mob. If you’re patient enough, you can pick up the battery without aggroing him.
Run out from there and interact with the Maintenance Staff Member to give him the batteries. Now the elevator is turned on and you can go down to the first floor. There you’ll meet several people trapped in the area and you’ll have fight the Antimatter Legions.
At this point, you’d think Pamela should be groveling and thanking you for cleaning up the area of deadly threats but no. Pamela tells you, “If you want the scoop, you have to pay the price.”
Fortunately, we don’t have to go back and forth to figure out what she wants because if there’s one more thing she’s proud about, that’s being a fan of Himeko of Astral Express. She asks for a “hi-def portrait photo of Himeko smiling,” one that “stuns people inito a trance,” and we will deliver exactly that. What can I say, I don’t blame you.
It almost felt like she knew exactly what she was doing from the start, but that might just be me.
The domain is finished after the dialogue. The moment you step out, the group chat starts buzzing again. The Companion Mission with Asta continues and until you’re finished you won’t head back to the domain anymore.
But once you’re done, you’ll notice that now you have an Adventure Mission with the same name as the Companion Mission. You head back to the blocked area in the Storage Zone to check on the status of the investigators that Asta sent there. Now you have to enter the domain with a new difficulty. You’ll also notice that the domain comes with a different scanning function and special mechanism.
In this current quest, you will have to find the 4 beacon data saved by the Wubbaboos. How you do this is pretty cute – you just find these floating creatures and take pictures of them to extract the data.

Once you’ve collected all the data, you’ll need to report to Asta remotely. By fulfilling all the extra objectives, you’ll get up to 60 Stellar Jades just for completing this domain!
And there you go, you have finished the mission ‘Signs of Fragmentum.’
