“This ancient relic from the Old World was an automated control unit left behind during the times of the Geomarrow Development Group. Unlike other mindless machines that could only receive instructions, Svarog is capable of complex thoughts. In battle, Svarog summons mechanical arms to grab and control his enemies, delivering devastating attacks.”

In Honkai Star: Rail, Svarog is a quite tanky opponent with high damage output, regardless of direct damage or AOE damage. Fortunately, he is not impossible to defeat; if you plan your team and combat strategies properly, you will be able to defeat this ancient robot boss.

Svarog Battle Mechanics – Boss Abilities

It is always important for you to become aware of all Svarog’s attack moves before you carry out any plans on what to do. While the tall robot is likely to attack you regularly and may seem unpredictable, he only has a certain number of moves you should watch out for.

Burning Beam: Svarog emits a laser beam from his palm, he can use this attack right after attempting a normal strike. This attack deals Physical Damage to a single target and delays their action.

Shrewd Bombing: Svarog’s special attack launches a barrage of missiles targeted at players. Although a single missile does less damage, multiple attacks add up. This attack deals massive Physical Damage to all targets, with a high chance to reduce their Defense.

Banishing Punch: Banishing Punch is an attack that the boss uses very often. Even though it is a common attack, it can deal up to 200 damage. Please also know that the boss can sometimes perform an extra Burning Beam attack after using this ability.

Boost Deployment: With this Special Attack, Svarog will summon an Auxiliary Robot Arm Unit

This robot can be used to cast Oppressive Embrace – an ability that allows him to use a mechanical hand that seizes a member of your party, trapping and taking them away from your lineup.

After this, if nothing is done to the Auxiliary Robot Arm Unit, it will continue causing damage each round to your oppressed character in your party (also known as Disabling Field).

The next attack it will perform is Overload Warning. This special attack will cause the Auxiliary Robot Arm Unit to explode, dealing incredibly high damage to one of your party members, causing at least 700 damage after Svarog performs the Controlled Blasting ability.

Oppressive Embrace: The Auxiliary Robot Arm Unit imprisons a single target, preventing them from taking action or being targeted. The Imprisonment is dispelled if the Auxiliary Robot Arm Unit suffers Weakness Break.

Disabling Field: Deals Physical Damage equal to a percentage of the Imprisoned Target’s Max HP.

Overload Warning: Auxiliary Robot Arm Unit enters Overload Countdown, causing the next action to cast Controlled Blasting if not defeated.

Some Tips to Beat Svarog

After you are introduced to all the abilities and talents of Svarog, we hope that you’ve gained a better understanding of what this boss is capable of doing. Next, let’s look at some tips we have prepared for you to have a comfortable experience against this boss.

Always Get a Healer/Shielder for Your Team

The boss is a high damage dealer, which means that he can lower the health bar of your party members really quickly and very easily. Therefore, it is important for you to always have a healer to heal your team up after taking damage, or a shielder to protect your team from the boss’ high damage output. We recommend that you get at least one healer/shielder for your team.

Natasha is one of the healer characters in Honkai: Star Rail you can use. For a shielder, March 7th can be an option for your team.

Destroy the Auxiliary Robot Arm Unit As Fast as You Can

If not eliminated, the Auxiliary Robot Arm Unit can defeat your characters as it can deal a lot of damage from abilities like Oppressing Embrace, Disabling Field, and the final attack Controlled Blasting that can one shot your character.

To prevent your team party from taking damage from these attacks, you will want to use high single-target damage characters like Dan Heng and Arlan to easily defeat the Auxiliary Robot Arm Unit.

Use Single-Target Damage Dealers for Your Team

The next tip is to use high single-target damage dealers. Some examples we have provided above are Dan Heng and Arlan, which are characters you can use.

Make Use of Elemental Weaknesses

You can use characters that possess the elements of Wind, Lightning and Fire to defeat Svarog efficiently. You do not have to use all of the characters to be able to defeat him, you only need one or two, so don’t be too worried about it.

Here is the list of some characters that you can use for each element:

  • Wind Characters: Blade, Bronya, Dan Heng, and Sampo.
  • Lightning Characters: Arlan, Bailu, Jing Yuan, Kafka, Serval and Tingyun.
  • Fire Characters: Asta, Himeko, Hook, and Trailblazer (Fire).

That is all of the information that we have gathered to help you achieve victory in the Svarog Boss Fight. For more Honkai: Star Rail guides like this, you can check out our Base Zone all treasure chest locations guide.
