Star Ocean The Second Story R is a modernized remake of a classic JRPG with tons of gear and accessories to craft and discover. Among these is the Ring of Might, which doubles the user’s attack in exchange for a reduction of elemental resistance, meaning that you’ll take more damage from certain hits. So, how can you get one (or more) of these rings?
How to Get Ring of Might
The first step in being able to craft your own Ring of Might is to advance the story enough until you reach the planet of Nede.
From here, you will want to travel to The Centropolis of Nede. Upon arriving to the city, go to the general item store.
At the store, you have to buy the Lezard’s Flask item for a steep price of 120,000. This support item will allow the user to craft more materials through Alchemy.
Next, you will need a character who has both at least an Alchemy level of 8 and the Blessing of Mana talent, which only certain individuals, such as Leon, can have.
Now, using the character who has the required stats and talent, you will want to go ahead and create Rainbow Diamonds. The only resource required for this step is Iron, and it is very easy to acquire a surplus of this material.
For the next step, you will want to go to the Crafting menu and select Claude. Then, pick the Rainbow Diamonds you created earlier. This method will get you a 25% chance of getting a Ring of Might.
To ensure a better chance of success, you may also want to unlock the Originality and Nimble Fingers talents. These can both be unlocked by simply crafting more items using the desired character, which in this case is Claude.
One thing to note about the Ring of Might is that it makes you weak to elemental attacks. To cancel this effect out, you’ll want to equip either a Sacrificial Doll accessory or Reflecting Plate armor.
And that’s pretty much all you need to know about how to acquire a Ring of Might and how to deal with its disadvantages. Now, get out there and start grinding levels to craft your own!
