How To Become Best Employee Guide

Lethal Company is one of the most enjoyable indie games to play with friends and there’s a lot to learn in it.

If you want to get better in the game, then you should know how the game works and what you can do in it. So, we’re here to guide you so that you can get all that scrap and get through your quota!

Make sure to go check out our Advanced Tools Guide in the game if you haven’t already!

The Basics

In Lethal Company, your job is to get as much scrap as possible to fill your Quota. You can do this by going to the different moons and collecting scrap to bring back to the space shuttle. The thing is, the company doesn’t care if you get back alive or not, thus the name.

So, you land on a planet, go get some loot, bring it back to the ship, and optionally stay alive. Simple right?

Well, it gets more complicated with the map layouts and the monsters that will hunt you. There’s also the company itself that is a danger to you since you’ll need to fill your Quota.

Starting Quota

At the start of the game, you don’t have much money and you need to reach a certain level of quota.

It’s best to save money for the first few Quotas and start buying when you’re above it. The more you reach your Quota, the higher it gets and inevitably you’ll lose, which is part of the fun!

Of course, you can also just buy the basics like buying flashlights or walkie-talkies for your team if you’re completely new.

It makes it easier for you to go around the first areas, but you’ll need to make up for the spending with more loot.

Lethal Company Choose Moon

Early Game Moons

There are three ‘early’ or easy moons that you can try out. In order of difficulty, they’re Experimentation, Assurance, and Vow.

  • The first moon is Experimentation, it has the lowest amount of loot compared to all the moons but it’s a great place to learn the game. It only spawns in a couple of threats and usually are easy to navigate.
  • Assurance is the middle ground of the easy moons; it has the most loot out of the 3 here. This is where Eyeless Dogs spawn outside and near the ship so make sure to check out our guide on what Eyeless Dogs can hear.
    • In my opinion, it’s the moon most newbies should start with as it also gives you a chance to get more loot.
  • Vow is the hardest of the early moons and just going out of the ship is incredibly dangerous. It has a lower loot pool and a higher monster spawn and is more of a challenge than a way to get money.

Mid Game Moons

Once you’re comfortable with going with more difficult moons you’ll have the Offense and March.

  • Offense is a tricky moon to navigate, and the fire exit needs a ladder to access it. It also almost always spawns dogs behind the ship, making things even harder.
    • This moon also has a high spawn rate for Coil-Heads, so you better get used to how to counter them. In terms of Loot is close to Assurance.
  • March is a hell moon and I highly suggest you don’t go there. There are multiple fire exits making it difficult to navigate and most entrances can be patrolled by enemies.
    • It has the same loot pool as Offense but with more spawns. It’s more of a challenging moon you try out than a place to go for loot.

Late Game Moons

There are three moons in this list and it’s Titan, Rend, and Dine. The first one is a great way to get money while the other two are challenging.

  • Titan has a large loot pool and is honestly less challenging than March. It has a higher spawn rate, but the place is so huge that you can often get loot without finding a single enemy.
    • The entrance is easy to navigate and sometimes your ship even spawns nearby making loot trips easier.
  • The next moon is Rend and it’s regarded as the most difficult moon to play in. The moon has a low loot pool spawn and has the highest spawn rates for enemies.
    • There are dogs and forest keepers outside the facility and Coil Heads, Jesters, and Brackens inside.
    • Good communication with the one on consoles is needed and the dangers both sides will face are challenging.
  • Dine is another difficult moon but at least it has a higher loot pool than Rend. The thing is, with the ship spawns you’ll need to walk a lot.
    • It doesn’t have as much of a spawn rate for enemies as Rend but it’s still challenging. There is always Forest Keepers around and the ship doesn’t spawn in the best of places.

Weather

Now that you know all of the moons in the game, let’s talk about the different weather systems you’ll be facing. Here are all the different weather modifiers you can get on each moon:

  • Raining – This is when quicksand spawns which are deadly big dark patches on the ground.
  • Storm – Lightning strikes randomly and will strike at any metallic item including the ones you’re holding. It will often play a sound before the lightning strikes so drop the metal objects and run away.
  • Flood – The outdoors will be filled with water. On some moons like Vow makes exits like the Emergency ones deadly. Eyeless dogs can swim fine in the water while you slow down and use up stamina. You can also drown which just adds to the problems.
  • Fog – A thick fog all around the exterior of the map. Makes things harder to see and navigate which can be a problem if there are Forest Keepers and Dogs around.
  • Eclipsed – Basically, it’ll always be night so exterior enemies will spawn immediately. Forest Keepers will be your main problem for moons with it.

Tips & Tricks

Now that you know the general gameplay elements of Lethal Company, here are some tips and tricks to help you.

  • Check Your Ceilings – It’s easy to focus on the ground with all the loot and mines but don’t forget about Snare Fleas. They can be a pain without a shovel or sign-wielding friend nearby.
  • Check Your Back – Paranoia can sometimes save you. Always check your back and see if there’s a mob behind you, you’ll never know!
  • Map It Out – Remember the map as you go through it the first time. Remember key areas and always know where to go. Always keep in mind where the entrance is and what path you took to get there.
  • Fun With Friends – Remember, sometimes you don’t have to be faster than the enemy, just faster than your friends!

With all that information you can now become the best employee in Lethal Company! Now, go out there and get that scrap and loot!
