Nightingale is a multiplayer, PVE survival game that allows you to play with your friends as you traverse different realms. While you travel, you will obviously come across many different activities you can do, like farming and hunting.
But there is one gameplay mechanic that is always present in any kind of game, even triple AAA games: fishing. It’s a fun and relaxing gameplay feature that can sometimes get crazy depending on the game. In Nightingale, it is certainly worth your time to fish, as it allows you to get better food to consume. In this guide, I will show you how to fish in Nightingale.
Fishing Guide
Fishing can be done in either 1st person or 3rd person, and it can also be done with friends. But of course, you will need to do a couple of things in order to do any sort of fishing in the game.
How to Fish
Now in order to start fishing, you will need to find the Essence Trader in whatever realm you are in and purchase the Fishing Rod schematic from them. The Fishing Rod, like in other games, needs to be crafted or purchased. In the case of Nightingale, you need to buy the schematic from an Essence Trader before you craft it.
Now that you have your Fishing Rod crafted, all that’s left is to find the nearest body of water and stand at the edge of it. Reel back your Fishing Rod by holding the Left Mouse Button on your mouse and then once you are charged up, release it and your character will cast the line into the water. Once that’s done, all you need to do is just wait.
Now eventually, you will get a fish to bite your hook and this will start the fishing minigame. How this works is that you will essentially need to hold your Left Mouse Button and get its red health bar to reach zero. While this happens, you need to keep an eye out on your Stamina and the Tension meter.
Your Stamina is the bar below the Tension meter. Once your Stamina runs out, you will lose your fish and you will need to try again. You can, of course, work to get better Stamina so you can last longer in trying to reel in the fish.
The Tension meter, on the other hand, is the bar above the Stamina. For this one, you need to worry about it filling up completely. If it fills up, the Tension will max out and your line will break, causing your fish to escape.
So to efficiently catch a fish, you need to hold the Left Mouse Button. When your Stamina bar is slowly getting emptied, release the Left Mouse Button and let it go back up. This also eases the Tension off of the meter as well, allowing it to go back down. Once your Stamina is back up, hold Left Mouse Button again and start reeling it in. Continue to do this until you get your fish.
