Risk of Rain Returns: How to Unlock Pilot

This is going to be a rough landing.

Risk of Rain Returns allows fans to replay the game that started the iconic series in its remastered glory. It also gives new players a chance to get into the series and get into the content that it has to offer. There are a variety of things that these new players can unlock which might give them some trouble. This includes the Pilot which has certain requirements for it to be unlocked.

These requirements may seem confusing to new players, since the process is not immediately obvious. In this guide, we will not only show you how to unlock the Pilot but to make these requirements as simple as possible. Let’s dive in and see how you can get the Pilot.

How to Unlock Pilot

To unlock the Pilot, you basically need to get 15 Monster Logs in the game. You can even check the requirements in the game below. The Achievement you need is the one labeled Seasoned Wanderer.

If you don’t know what Monster Logs are, they give you information about a particular Monster. When you face a new kind of Monster and defeat them, the Monster log drops from them providing you additional information about them.

When you get these Monster Logs, you will get a notification telling you which particular Monster that you got the Log for. However, you are not always guaranteed a Monster Log since there is an element of RNG when monsters spawn in the game.

You can’t really ensure that a particular type of Monster spawns, so there will be some luck. However, there are ways in which you can increase the chances, as we will see ahead in the guide.

You can access any Monster Logs that you have collected from the Monsters Menu. In this Menu, you can see that there are potentially 40 Monster Logs that you can obtain in the game. You only need 15 of these to unlock the Pilot.

How To Unlock Pilot Faster & Easier

There are two ways in which you can fulfill these requirements and increase the chances of Monster Logs dropping.

The first one is by going on a really long run when playing the game. A longer run means that you will face and spawn more and different types of monsters.

More Monsters means more chances for them to drop Monster Logs, ensuring that you can get as many as possible.

Reaching HAHAHAHA Difficulty in Risk of Rain Returns.

The best way in which you can get Monster Logs is by playing the game on Monsoon Difficulty. It seems that Monster Logs just seem to spawn a lot more on this difficulty.

If you were to go on a really long Monsoon run, this would give you the highest chances of getting Monster Logs.

Keep in mind that the more Monster Logs you collect, the lower your chances will be for getting more Monster Logs.

However, by utilizing both these methods you should be able to get to 15 Monster Logs pretty easily. After that, you can unlock the Pilot!
