Starfield: How To Use Grav Jump

In Starfield, there is always a need for you to travel around the space system and from one planet to another. This requires you to have a space ship that is well built to help you go far distances with minimal costs. One feature that allows you to do this is the Grav Jump system.

The Grav Jump system lets you travel between different galaxies and planets. With more than 1000 planets for you to discover, this system becomes really necessary. However, you may not know the controls to get started and we’re here to help you with that.

How To Use Grav Jump

Once you are in your ship, look to your bottom left corner. You then will be able to see energy levels you can use to distribute to your systems.

For example, you can move the energy levels from the ENG (engine) system to the GRV (gravity) system. Since you need to perform a grav jump, you’ll want to have some points in the GRV system.

In order to do this on PC, you’ll want to hold Alt then press the A or D key to move left and right to select the system.

Then, while holding alt, you can press the W or S key to add more points to the systems or to remove points from them. Your second way of doing this is to use the arrow keys to navigate the system just like the indicators you can see in the image down below.

If you are on Xbox, you will want to use the directional pad (D-Pad). The process is going to be the same for you with the left and right buttons for moving between the systems and the up and down buttons for distributing energy points.

With some points in the GRV system, you’ll now be ready for a grav jump. You can then go to your space map and select a system. After that, hold the Jump Key and you’ll be able to perform a grav jump to the destination system.

You can also perform a grav jump without having to open up your star map. You can do this if you are doing a mission. First, you’ll want to look at the location of the mission and target it. Then, use the mission button or key on your screen and you’ll perform a grav jump there.
