Escape from Tarkov is a game that started the whole extraction shooter boom, and with it came games like Marauders and Dark and Darker which put their own twist in the genre. There’s probably going to be more down the line but let’s not forget that the original game that started it all isn’t even finished yet! The game is still getting updates and with the newer updates adding a whole new map as well as a whole new big issue for some players. Today we’ll show you what this massive problem is that Escape from Tarkov is experiencing right now.

Escape from Tarkov: The 0.13 Patch Has A MAJOR Memory Leak Issue

We all know that these days there’s a lot of games that are released unfinished and they just patch it up as they go. It’s a sad reality that we have to accept because even though you and I can stop supporting these kinds of games, more people will still end up buying them. Escape From Tarkov is still being updated, and with the release of the Streets of Tarkov map came a new problem for the players.

Memory Leaks

You see when a program like a game runs they have to manage the memory allotted to them by your PC. Most games do this well while others are memory hungry, then we have memory leaks. This is when the program mismanages memory allocation and keeps on getting more and more memory from the system. There’s a lot of reasons why this could happen, but it is happening to Escape from Tarkov right now.

Many players have reported that their games, even when running idle, racks up memory until it grinds your system to a halt. This may be due to some problem with the code, but as of now there’s no fix for it and we all need to wait for a patch.

A Band-Aid to the Problem

If you’re experiencing a memory leak with Escape from Tarkov there’s nothing you can do really. If you really want to play the game then you should restart the game when the memory consumption is too big, still this depends on how much memory you can spare. Since the game will continuously get memory from your system you might have either 20 or 30 minutes or way less depending on how much you have.

The best way is to just hunker down and hope that the developers can patch this as quickly as possible.

That’s rough for the people who enjoy Escape from Tarkov, here’s hoping that we get a fix as soon as possible.
