What Variant are you?

Have you ever wondered if Roblox games could ever be as deep or involved as standard AAA titles? If you aren’t too well-versed in how deep these games can go, Roblox just might surprise you. For example, Type Soul is one of the deepest, most involved titles on the platform and it revolves around the world of Bleach. In this guide, I’m going to show you guys the best way to obtain Vizard & all Variants.

Best Way To Obtain Vizard & All Variants

Okay, so what is a Vizard to begin with? It might not be too familiar, but those who know what the Visored are in Bleach could probably guess. Things are a little different in Type Soul as far as naming is concerned, and the extremely powerful Soul Reapers / Shinigami in the game can take their power to the next level by becoming a Vizard.

What does it take to become a Vizard?

If I’m being honest, it’s a lot of work. The Vizard and all of the Variants will take quite a bit of grinding. That said, those who are passionate about the world of Bleach and are willing to work toward their goals probably won’t mind it too much. If you’re reading this guide, you’re probably ready to dive right in. Heck, I’ll even add this best Arrancar weapon guide while you’re at it!

First and foremost, you’ll need to be a Soul Reaper to become a Vizard, which is par for the course. The foundation of the grind lies in the Hogyoku Fragments. You’ll need ten of these fragments if you intend to become a Vizard.

This here is a Hogyoku Fragment!

Where do I get Hogyoku Fragments?

Step #1: Raids

The easiest (and most time-consuming) way to get Hogyoku Fragments is by participating in Boss Raids. These raids require you to enlist the help of other players to defeat various bosses. These areas include Soul Society, Hueco Mundo, and Wandenreich.

The unfortunate thing about this task is that the Hogyoku Fragments have a 0.5% drop rate from the raids. It will undoubtedly take time — it is not outside the realm of possibility for a player to tackle these raids more than a thousand times to get the necessary fragments.

Step #2: Player Interactions

With this method, you can either trade with players for Hogyoku Fragments, or take it from them by force. I really wouldn’t recommend the latter, because it’s a much more difficult path to follow.

If you want my advice, the best thing to do is to look for players who are willing to do raids with you, and to trade for fragments. Players who aren’t going through the path of the Shinigami have no need for Hogyoku Fragments, so you can make things easier on yourself by simply trading with them. Of course, you’d need items that they want in return.

Step #3: Ranked Play

Ranked in Type Soul
One of the most fun ways to get the fragments in my opinion!

This last one is interesting, as it could potentially be the easiest or most difficult one for you. If you’re a skilled player, this is probably the best path to follow. It involves playing Ranked Battles with other players. The more you defeat, the higher your chance of obtaining Hogyoku Fragments.

Acquiring the Mask

No matter what path you choose, it’s a long grind. Once you’ve gathered the necessary Hogyoku Fragments, you can use them to summon a boss located in Hueco Mundo. At this point, you’re probably chomping at the bit to get your just rewards, but there’s still work to be done!

Once you’ve defeated the boss and acquired the mask, all you have to do is put it on — this will set you on the road to becoming a Vizard.

He doesn’t look happy to see you.

Following the Voice

The interesting thing about wearing the mask you obtained from the boss is you’ll begin to hear voices. You’ll see these as messages on your screen, and it can be pretty distracting. That said, it’s quite an interesting way of progressing through a class, so I can’t really fault them for that.

The voice will tell you certain things, and they all have to do with a specific task. Thankfully, the prompts aren’t too difficult to understand. These include:

  • The voice mentioning raids – If the voice mentions raids of any sort, then you’ll need to win ten raids while you have the mask equipped. These raids can be of any type, so long as you’re wearing the mask.
  • The voice mentioning Soul Reapers – This one might take a while. The voice requires you to kill 200 Soul Reapers / Shinigami. The good news is that you can kill either players or NPCs.
  • The voice mentioning finding them – This is the easiest. It involves you meditating and traveling to Shikai to defeat a mirror image of your character, though they’ll be in Vizard form.
Obtaining the Mask in Type Soul
Definitely a cool cutscene.

Once you finally obtain your mask, you’ll be a fully-fledged Vizard! As for the different Variants, there are five in total. This includes:

  • Damage
  • Defense
  • HP Regen
  • Rei Regen
  • Speed

Obtaining the mask gives you three of the five Variants. There was some confusion about the True Vizard containing all Variants, but it was confirmed that you only get three. As for the type of Variant you have whenever you pop the mask (with the K button), there’s no way to tell what Variant you have until you start seeing it in action.

At one point, the players thought that the color of your attacks gave you clues about the type of Variant. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. It’s your character’s eye color that dictates the color of your attacks, which means people are still in the dark as far as how to choose their Variant.

It’s a little disappointing that you can’t get all five Variants, but it’s already an incredibly powerful class. If they gave you every Variant it would probably be pretty OP.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I would say that the sheer effort necessary to become a Vizard in the game is liable to turn people off — especially those who don’t have the farming mindset. However, games such as Type Soul are the kinds of titles that you play with a long-term goal. It isn’t something that will give you everything you want in one go.

Even if you’re a fantastic player, you still have to play by the rules of the game, and it will likely take you a while to get the fragments necessary to start the questline. That being said, I would say that it’s well worth the effort. It also improves your Kendo skills — speaking of, here’s a complete guide to Kendo in the game!

The Vizard is extremely powerful, perhaps one of the most powerful classes in the game. The Vizard pretty much allows you to overpower just about anything the game throws at you. It’s a fantastic reward for those who are willing to work for what they want.
