One of the hidden achievements in Honkai: Star Rail is a play with shield, creating the most impenetrable layer of defense in the game. Previously in 1.0, this achievement, Earthwork, can be rather confusing, because despite stated description, it doesn’t really work as intended.
Now at 1.1, the Earthwork achievement has been fixed and made easier to achieve. And here’s how you can do it.
Earthwork Hidden Achievement Guide
It’s easiest to do the Earthwork hidden achievement with the right blessings in the Simulated Universe. You need March 7th who is the current best single-target shielder. And when you hop in, pick Preservation path which is a DEF/shield-based path. Path of Destruction is an alternative to this achievement.
There are, theoretically, many other ways to do this, but in very convoluted methods. The easiest, however, is to buff March 7th DEF stats and the shield max absorb damage. And to pick blessings that will grant your character damage right off the bat.
These are some of the best blessings that gave my Natasha, who has a high HP stat, more than 3k shield when she enters the battle.
There are also blessings in the Path of Destruction that gives you “emergency” shield of sorts. If you can get the Fighting Spirit stacks, that will work as well. This is why Path of Destruction is an alternative pick to get this achievement. A stack of Fighting Spirit is 3% of DEF and ATK buff. Times that with 20, you get an insane amount of DEF.
Wear her both the Knight of Purity Palace 2x and the Belobog of the Architects for more DEF.
Before March 7th use her skill, my Natasha has 3.6k Shield stacked. In 1.0, this number wouldn’t have mattered, but it’s been fixed now in 1.1.
With March 7th’s shield skill, I easily went over 5k and got the achievement.
Although there’s still the visual bug where it only shows the number of a singular shield gain, it now works as intended. Good luck!
