Ark Survival Ascended: Organic Polymer Farms Guide

There are many resources to discover and farm in Ark Survival Ascended. Among these is organic polymer, which can be used for various endgame recipes such as Tek tier armor and firearms. Because of this, you may be wondering if there is an efficient way to farm this valuable material.

Credits to Doth for creating the farm concept and doing extensive testing with gathering from it.

Organic Polymer Farms Guide

First, you have to align yourself directly to either the north, east, west, or south of the map when starting with the foundations. This is due to how the breeding range and Oviraptors work.

To build this farm, you will need four foundations in a square shape. Then, place doorways all around it except for one square, which will be a quarter wall.

For the next step, place your Kairukus into the cube. If you are dedicated to fitting as many as you can inside, you can potentially have eight columns and eight rows of them.

To do this, you will also need a ladder and a foundation right outside. Place the Kairuku down behind the ladder, climb it, immediately get off and crouch, then pick up the penguin before tossing it inside the cube.

Once you’re done filling up the first part of the cube, shut it by patching up the hole on the side with another quarter wall and start placing down your second floor using ceiling blocks.

Repeat the whole process of transferring more Kairukus on the second floor, then close it off by adding ceilings above it.

The Ideal Layout

For your Kairukus, you will need mostly female ones and just a handful of males. Specifically, on the third and sixth row, you will have a total of two males each.

The set up should look like this, with the males highlighted with red squares:

As long as you have correctly oriented yourself properly while constructing this setup, your breeding ranges should be correct and the males should reach even the ones on the next floor.

Next, you will need some Oviraptors up on the roof. These will automatically collect the eggs for you. You will want several of them to gather as many as possible.

Ark oviraptors

To transport the eggs, you should build a teleporter close to the Oviraptors or carry it around yourself or with a high weight creature.

These can then be stored in other high weight creatures that won’t eat the eggs, or in Tek troughs that are set to “Include” without actually adding any dinos to the list.

How To Hatch The Eggs

When you hatch all of the eggs, try to be present in the area when they do pop up or else your framerate will suffer drastically.

Also, have a grill (or several) ready to cook the prime meat, as well as other crafting stations or containers that you can store the organic polymer in.

Ark pelagornis farming

Finally, you should be using a Pelagornis to gather from the baby Kairukus. Doing this will get you the most organic polymer from hatched Kairukus regardless of its melee stat.

That’s pretty much it for this farm concept. This method reportedly makes around 400 or more organic polymer per day, depending on the server and possible boosts, though it requires a lot of work to build!
