Console commands in ARK: Survival Ascended are there to help those who’re in a pinch and can only be saved by having a helping hand extend itself from the skies above. For example, you can use a simple command to get rid of the trees visually to find beehives. Sure, it doesn’t sound fair but neither does looking for one and taking five hours to do so in a single player server.
It’s fairly easy to use on a PC, but is it the same for people who twiddle around with analog sticks? Thankfully you won’t be needing those in today’s guide, unless you made a spelling error that is.
How To Enable Console Commands on PS5 & XBOX
Be default, the console command will be turned off. To change this, pause the game when you can and go to your advanced settings. You’ll see a setting called “Console Access” on the left-hand side of your screen. Turn that on and save your settings to access it whenever you like.
Another way of bypassing this three click process is through the use of an actual keyboard. Simply hit Tab while it’s plugged in, and it will bring up the console as long as you’re in-game.
The image provided below is what the command console will look like if you’re using a controller exclusively. Accessing this menu is as simple as pausing your game and looking at the lower left side of your screen.
Your input will be required to determine what kind of setting you wish to change. Most commands here end with either a “0” or a “1.” This represents the setting or command being turned off and on respectively.
These settings will be saved after you type them in correctly for the first time. Some settings like grass.enable 0 may take a while to load up. This is disabling all of the grass on the entire island after all.
And that’s how you enable console commands in ARK: Survival Ascended. Now go and see how the game looks like without all the grass swaying bout!
