In Ark Survival Ascended, you will be fighting many of the bosses and monsters as you explore new areas. The Alpha Dragon is an opponent that you will eventually face as you progress.
This Dragon can fly around, breathe fire, and command minions to attack you. In this guide, we will show you how to deal with this dragon as a Solo Player.
How To Solo Alpha Dragon Guide
Preparation
Before you get started fighting the boss, you need to get prepared.
- Mount: It’s recommended for you to use a Megaloceros. The basic mount will work but it is even better if you can find a good Saddle for it.
- Melee Damage: Have maximum points in your melee damage and have it at 745%.
- Ghillie Armor: Mask, Chestpiece, Leggings, Gauntless and Boots. This set of armor helps prevent the heatstroke inside the Arena.
- Consumables: Medical Brew, Energy Brew, Lazarus Chowder, Enduro Stew, Calien Soup, and Shadow Steak Sauce.
- Weapon: Try using the Maxed Ascendant Sword. You can use any weapon; it will only take you less or more time depending on what weapon you have.
All of these items are going to keep you alive in the boss battle.
Boss Fight Strategy
When the match starts, use the Enduro Stew. This will increase your melee damage by 35% for 900 seconds. If your weapon is fully upgraded, you can do lots of damage.
When the boss flies around, try to stick to the map’s border. The Alpha Dragon cannot hit any small tamed mounts like the Megaloceros, so make sure you are on your mount at all times.
The Dragon can command Dimorphodons to attack you. Sit in one corner and pull out your sword to defeat them.
For the fireball attacks, run around with your mount to dodge them and it will be very unlikely for them to hit you.
Once the dragon lands on the ground, try to get next to his foot. Keep hitting it and you will deal great damage to the boss.
When you hit the boss’ foot, look at the sky and you will be able to also hit any of the Dimorphodons that fly towards you.
As you swing at the boss’ foot, pay attention to your energy and use an Energy Brew whenever necessary so you don’t knock yourself out.
Once the Dragon is flying in the air, stick to the world’s border. When the Dragon is on the ground, stick next to one of his feet and hit it.
The better your sword is, the quicker you are able to defeat the boss.
Keep repeating the steps and you will be able to defeat this boss. After the boss flies upwards, there is a small window for you to use your consumables to regenerate health and get on your mount again to dodge the attacks.
That’s how you can defeat the Alpha Dragon Solo in Ark Survival Ascended. Make sure that your mount isn’t taking as much damage so you can still move around and dodge the boss’ attacks. Once you defeat him, you can receive the Dragon Supply Crate with plenty of rewards!
