There are a ton of existing and upcoming characters that you can collect in Black Clover M, and most of them can be great choices in a variety of game modes as long as they are built right.
In this guide, we’ll be covering Jack the Ripper, who is an eccentric attacker that can deal a ton of damage with the correct build choices.
Complete Captain Jack Guide & Build | Skills, Gear, & Talents
Although he is not a particularly popular character in the game, Jack is a blue attacker who has massive potential in certain game modes if he is built properly. Here are his abilities:
- Blade Attack – Jack slashes a single target. This has a 60% chance to inflict Bleed for multiple turns.
- Enhance Physical Ability – Grants the user increased PEN, CRIT Rate, and Speed.
- Death Scythe – Jack strikes one enemy and deals bonus CRIT damage for eachactive buff. This also has a high chance of inflicting Bleed.
- Combined Attack – If the target has an active debuff, this attack deals 30% more damage.
- United Attack – When paired with Yami (red version), both characters will attack with an increased chance to CRIT.
- Enhanced Passive – Jack deals 7% more damage when attacking enemies affected by a Continuous Damage effect. Enhancing him is generally not recommended.
- Unique Passive – Grants Jack Sever when using his second skill. This increases how much damage he does based on his remaining HP.
Skill Page & Equipment
For his skill page, Jack’s signature Thrill of the Struggle will be the best choice due to how it will generally just increase his damage output and add even more penetration to his second skill.
Other choices include Breath of Darkness, Condemnation of Light, and The Captain’s Dignity. These pages, with the exception of the first one, will greatly increase Jack’s CRIT Rate.
As for his gear, it’s a no-brainer that you should be focusing on his attack stats. As for sets, you will be aiming for the following halves:
- Two pieces of Magic Beast’s Nightmare – This will give Jack 10% bonus CRIT rate whenever his health is at 70% or higher.
- Two pieces of Chilling Breath – This will grant a 10% bonus CRIT damage buff upon casting a special skill.
- Two pieces of Noble’s Inheritance (gold) – This will give a CRIT rate bonus of 5%
Talent Trees
For his attack talents, the obvious choices are Increased ATK or Increased CRIT DMG and Sharp Mind. Critical damage is better if you have maximized his CRIT Rate.
As for defense, the usual Increased DEF and Endurance nodes will do just fine. Under support, pick Swiftness and Increased DMG RES.
Possible Team Setups
One good PVE team for this character essentially revolves around going all in on Jack in particular. It requires the following units:
- Jack – The team’s main (and only) damage dealer who will try to nuke enemies as fast as possible.
- Nebra – Has good stalling and debuffing capabilities that will greatly help with this build.
- Sally – She can grant bonus CRIT Rate, among other attack-related buffs.
- William – Provides even more buffs to further enhance Jack’s critical damage.
For PVP, he isn’t really a great unit to use, but if you have to, you can run a full blue squad that has the following units:
- Jack – Again, the main damage dealer of the team.
- Lotus – Is a great debuffer that can apply various impactful status effects on enemies.
- Mars – Solid tank character who can also stun and debuff enemies.
- Charmy (Swimsuit) – She is just a great healer to have overall.
