Nightingale offers players a unique Victorian era setting where they can survive against all sorts of mystical dangers. While everyone has the option to brave the lands solo, players can also do so with their friends. With so much crafting and building required, it can often help to have a buddy along.

But many players have been having trouble actually getting to play co-op with their friends in Nightingale. Not to worry, we are here to help you out. In this guide, we will show you exactly how to play co-op and what requirements you need to fulfill beforehand. Let’s dive in together!

How To Co-Op

To play co-op with your friends (up to 6 players) in Nightingale, you will need to do the following:

  • Complete the Tutorial part of the Nightingale game
  • Invite your friends using the Party and Social Menu
  • Invite your party members to your Realm.

If you’re just starting out with your friends, it would help to know how to level up your gear early and fast!

Complete the Tutorial

Before you can play co-op with your friends, you will need to complete the tutorial part of the game. And yes, that means that everyone who wants to play in the party must fulfill this requirement. However, there can be a lot of confusion about when exactly you are allowed to play with friends.

The exact moment you can play with friends is when you enter into your first Abeyance Portal after you’ve gone through the Forest, Desert and Swamp Biomes. This Realm will take you back to the Forest Biome, where you can talk to Puck.

After you talk to Puck, you will get a notification in the top right corner signaling that you can now play co-op with your friends in Nightrealm. So, make sure that both you and your friends have reached this part of the game before you attempt to invite them into your party for co-op play.

During the tutorial, you might also face some trouble with crafting – so it’ll help to know how you can get wood bundles.

Invite Friends To Your Party

Once you’ve gotten past the tutorial, you can now proceed to inviting your friends to play co-op in Nightingale. To do this, press the P button to open up the Party and Social Menu. Here, you can see that there will be 5 empty slots besides yours.

So, you can play co-op in a party of up to a total of 6 players.

Once the Party and Social Menu is open, you’ll need to do the following steps:

  • The username and numbers can be seen in the top right corner of the Party and Social Menu. Friends who are to be invited must tell their username and numbers to the host.
  • The host must search for their friends’ usernames and numbers.
  • Once the username and number has been found, the player must click on the Invite option to get the players into the party.

However, being invited to a party does not mean that you can play co-op just yet in Nightingale.

Invite Friends To Your Realm

For the next step, you will need to actually bring your friends to the Realm, so that you can play co-op. In your Party and Social Menu, you will see the option to Invite To Realm under your friends’ player cards. So, click on this button to invite them into your Realm, effectively bringing them to your game world.

However, there is a small glitch on Nightingale currently that leads to the invite not being sent if your friends are in their Party and Social Menu. So, make sure that your friends are not in their respective menus before you send them the invite.

When you do so, they should get a prompt telling them if they want to accept the Realm invite from you. Once everyone has accepted, they can now play co-op alongside you in your Nightingale Realm!

That’s everything you need to know about playing co-op in Nightingale. It is certainly a bit annoying that you have to essentially invite your friends twice in a party before you can play. However, once they’re with you, you can enjoy what the game has to offer to your heart’s content.
