Monster Hunter Sunbreak is the new best thing in the hunting and destroying monsters genre of games. This new edition comes with a lot of new skills which need explaining on how to use them and getting explained. Well, let’s get started with explaing the new Switch Skills of all weapons.

All Weapon’s New Switch Skills & How To Use Them – Monster Hunter Sunbreak

Bow

The Bow is a below weapon for a lot of the players. The new skills that are getting here are:

  • Stake Thrust – you can leave a special stake in the target, no matter how big or small it is. If you hit this same stake it’s hitting for a lot of extra damage. It will stay up for 45 seconds.
  • Butcher’s Bind – binds yourself with your target. The same effect as the stake-if you hit the bind you’ll do a ton of more damage to your enemy.
  • Bolt Boost – a 1:45 buff for extra damage.

Long Sword

The Longsword is getting these new skills:

  • Sacred Sheathe Combo – amazing new attack skill. You can hold it in your sheathe looking like a cool samurai only to unleash it dealing a ton of damage on your enemy.
  • Tempered Spirit Blade – this is a beautiful counter. You can catch an enemy attack with this and it will raise your spirit gauge by a whole 1 level. Only does a decent amount of damage.
  • Harvest Moon – makes a big circle around you that lasts for 1:30 minutes and refuses your spirit gauge from depleting. Counter attacks have additional hits too.

Light Bowgun

Also has new skills. Those are:

  • Critical Firepower – it will raise your damage output and increases your recoil. You will need to adjunct to your firing position to get the maximum effect.
  • Wyvern Counter – this is an amazing skill if you want to retreat. It will fire a shot with massive recoil and use a Wirebug to stop. It will save you in a lot of situations.
  • Mech Skillbind Shot – it is an onslaught of shots. Each shot is laced with Ironsilk that lodges into your enemy and if you follow up these shots you’ll do more damage.

Dual Blades

  • Slide Slash Combo – you can use this attack while evading. It also works with your combos meaning you can unleash a heavy combo attack that will be hard to defend from.
  • Spiral Slash – it’s an attack that will spiral you forward and connect with your enemy dealing tons of damage. Can be done in midair too.
  • Ironshine Silk – it’s sharpening your blades for buffs.

Charge Blade

  • Phial Followup: Firing Pin – it is a mechanism that will generate elemental energy which will build up on your target, but disappears with time. You can detonate it while in Axe Mode.
  • Ready Stance – this is an amazing stance that will bind an axe and a sword together with an Ironsilk. After guarding you are able to do a heavy knockback that you can chain with sword or axe attacks.
  • Air Dash – rise up whirling an axe and you can proper yourself away in the air with a Phial Explosion. You can also control your fall direction which makes this amazing skill.

Gun Lance

  • Erupting Cannon – which is firing an exploding stake at your enemy. This stake will heat up and slashing attacks on this very same target will be increased for a time.
  • Bullet Barrage – you will use a Wirebug to Dash with a blast towards your enemy. Careful though because they will automatically get reloaded before attacking.
  • Reverse Blast – very interesting evasive maneuver. You will do a quick reload if you have no shells loaded and jump back in a rapid way.

Hunting Horn

  • Swing Combo – is a two-hit attack which you can choose from the left or the first. Very good responsive and repositioning skill.
  • Sonic Blood – you’ll place a Wirebug on the croon tether with Ironsilk to you. When you’ll be attacking vibrations will be sent and after a certain, while this energy stored detonates dealing tons of damage.
  • Skillbind Shockwave – is wrapping your weapon in Silkbind. This will trigger a couple of additional hits that will do major stun, part damage, and exhaust on your target.

Heavy Bowgun

  • Crouching Shot – it is a special stance that will reduce recoil. You won’t be able to move but in return, you’ll be firing in rapid succession. Very useful if you can hold your ground and fire from afar.
  • Rising Moon – a Wirebug with generates a ring of Ironsilk. When ammo or bullets pass here you’ll get tons of buffs for your weapons.
  • Settling Sun – also generates a wring which now boosts the total number of hits per impact on your target.

Greatsword

  • Surge Slash Combo – it is combining speed with the weight of the weapon which will do a set of very powerful slashes on your enemy. A lot of combos are doable here too.
  • Strongarm Stance – buffs both your arms and weapons to temporarily fend off attacks. You can use it while charging which will parry an attack in an instant and can be followed with a counterattack.
  • Backslide – an evasive move using a Wirebug. While your target is charing you, you can use this and evade him while doing slash combo moves on them.

Insect Glaive

  • Kinsect Slash – this is a mid-air technique where you thrust forward and connect a slash on your enemy. This will give you a certain buff too after.
  • Awakened Kinsect Attack – you will hurl a Kinsect that will deal a massive amount of damage.
  • Kinsect Glide – you will send out your Kinsect and it will use a Wirebug to jump on it. When you will throw it at a monster it will absorb an extcrat. Very useful for combos.

Sword and Shield

  • Twin Blade Combo – it is a two-part attack that opens with a circular slash and follows with a blade thrust. Very good attack to get multiple hits in.
  • Destroyer Oil – using a Wirebug to buff up your sword which works very good with your shield.
  • Shield Bash – it is both an offensive and a defensive move that will dash you forward with your shield raised. You can use it to match combos to attack your target or simply get out of a tricky situation.

Switch Axe

  • 2 Staged Morph Slash Combo – it can combo and morph into sword and axe mode.
  • Wire Step – good for flanking your enemy and good maneuver to Axe mode.
  • Elemental Burst Counter – a massive Elemental Burst of damage on your finish. A good power finished moving too.

Lance

  • Shield Tackle – you charge forward and attack while able to guard yourself with a shield.
  • Skyward Thrust – you will jump up in the air and pierce your target like Achilles himself.
  • Sheathing Retreat – sheathes your weapon and pulls you back to safety.

Hammer

  • Spinning Bludgeon: Charge – stored up released power which you can unleash in a deadly attack.
  • Keeping Sway – you can charge and evade at a very high speed.
  • Impact Burst – a powerful buff that will make it easier to flinch monsters.
