Monster Hunter Sunbreak evolves around you creating a character that can be different in millions of ways, but with a final goal of tracking down and hunting very scary and big monsters. To be able to do that, you’ll need all the help. In this guide, we will be talking about the Food in Sunbreak and how it can buff you up to prepare for a monster hunt.

Food Guide | Hopping Skewers Explained – Monster Hunter Sunbreak

Many people will simply say that Food is something that might not be necessary at times. Some people will also say that they don’t need a guide because the food is very self-explanatory. Well, buckle up because we are sure you will see and probably learn some things that will help you in your future monster hunts.

Lots of people do not understand the hopping skewer system and if they are right to do so, it might come complicated.

First of all, you will obviously need to come to the Canteen or the food market itself. Take a seat and this is where you’ll get hit with the menu of what you can use and buy for eating(buffing yourself up).

Take a pen and a piece of paper and write this down so you don’t forget it. ALWAYS EAT BEFORE A HUNT! No matter what you’re doing, it can be mining, hunting, exploring, and eating is something that will make your life a whole lot easier and much smoother. So just take this tip and use it and you’ll start noticing the difference.

You will get an option on paying the cats here. You can choose to pay with:

  • Points
  • Money

My recommendation is to pay with money. Points are a little bit more sparse and can be used for other things. You should be loaded with money anyway. And do not save money on food. Look at it as an investment.

Then go to Order Bunny Dango. This is where the fun things start. You can choose up to 3 Dangos to stack up on the stick. Each one is giving different effect as you can see.

You can see the information and buffs that you’ll get from the Dangos shown on the bottom tabs. You will also get an Activation Chance, and can use the Dango Ticket by pressing Triangle. It will increase the activation tickets by a lot, sometimes 40-50% more.

You can get Dango Tickets from Nagi the Buddy Agent. Under the Argosy tab, choose Exchange for Items and you will buy yourself a whole bunch of Raw Meat.  You will roast the meat at the canteen right after the chef Azuki the Cook will give you Dango Tickets.

There are 4 levels of Dango effects. Lots of people don’t know this because it only shows as level 2 on the basic page. Each level essentially increases the bonuses that you get from eating the Dango meal.

To get a level 4 Dango you will need a Hopping Skewer. The skewer will decrease your chances by a drastic amount as you can see. In order to get those chances higher, you will need to sort out the Dango in a better rotation in the stick.

You can put the most needed Dango Effect on the top, and then proceed to put them lower. It’s a good idea to balance it out according to the levels that you put on the stick. You can open the description while putting the Hopping Skewer and correct these Dango Effects to what you need the most – with the highest level, to what you might sacrifice (let’s say a lower chance of getting it).

It is basically gambling a percentage of activation for a higher level and buff effect. You might get lucky and get everything that you need, but at the same time, you might lose everything.
