As you make the normal transition from PS4 to PS5, you will carry the many games you have collected along the way with you. Now, what if I told you that a lot of the games you had for the PS4 can actually be upgraded, for free, to their PS5 counterpart! I know! Improved graphics for the win! Now, it’s a really easy thing to do once you do it the first time, so here is a quick guide to show you how to upgrade your games to their better, improved version!
How to UPGRADE PS4 game to PS5 Version on PS5
First of all, not all games have this possible upgrade available, so don’t be disappointed if your PS3 007 game does not have an upgrade for the PS5.
The first thing you need to do is find the game you wish to see if it has an upgrade. After you’ve selected it, you will see the choice to either play the game or “…” dots in a little circle. Click the dots.
You will now see a lot of options available. Find the Game Version tab and select it to see your possible options.
Here, just select the PS5 edition and you’ll be ready to play. If you don’t see the option there, enter your collection and click the triple dots for the game in there.
Select “View Product” and you’ll be on the store page. In here, select the “…” again and you’ll see here if there is a PS5 version available to download.
Select to download it for free and then do the steps from before to select the new version you have just downloaded.
You can also change the version back to the PS4 version if you wish, for some reason, to use your PS4 controller to play.
