Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is one of the games in the series that have slowly moved away from the classic Assassin’s Creed combat to a more action-oriented combat style. This change was controversial for many old players of the series but the change is staying with new Assasin’s Creed games continuing the trend. The combat has also made way for the possibility of more varied enemies and bosses which led to now the newest addition to Assassin’s Creed, the Forgotten Saga, and with that more bosses! In this guide, we’ll show you how to fight the Balsvin boss in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Balsvin Boss Fight Guide For Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Forgotten Saga

The Balsvin is the first boss you’ll encounter in Forgotten Saga, a story based on the myth where Odin went to the underworld and asked Hel to meet Baldr. Although in the story it was pretty tame with Hel agreeing and the story ending with Odin spending a day with Baldr. In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Forgotten Saga though, it’s a bit more than that.

Like many melee-only enemies in the game, the Balsvin can easily take a lot of damage from your bow, so if you want easy hits, keep your distance, aim properly and shoot him from afar. Be careful though since this enemy has a few tricks in its sleeve to get you from afar as well.

The Balsvin can do a charge attack that can easily hit you if you’re not careful, like most attacks in the game though they telegraph the attack first giving you ample time to react.

One of its moves is where he starts slamming the ground while a red circle appears. It will slam the ground 3 times, with the 3rd one spewing fire around the circle. So, keep away from that attack. The great thing about this one though is that he basically stands there easy for you to shoot.

At one point he’ll do a move where he buries his tusks on the ground. A faint circle appears below you. It’ll follow you for a while before stopping and creating a circle of fire. So keep moving at this attack and you’ll be good.

Overall, this is the first boss in a series of bosses so it’s still pretty tame and simple. Just keep your distance and shoot, or punish the bosses large and slow attacks with your melee strikes.

Congratulations, you now know how to fight the Balsvin effectively! Now go out there and try it out yourself!
