We’ve all been waiting patiently for the release of Warzone 2.0, and it has finally arrived back on November 16th. Since then many metas, builds, bugs and glitches have been discovered. Some players like the game and consider it an upgrade, some are less positive about it and only see bad in it. Either way, even though the map is entirely new, many are already wondering when we can expect the next one.
In this article, we’ll go over all the information currently available but also some speculations & theories.
The New Warzone 2.0 Map: Resurgence Map | Release Date, Size & More
It has been a few months now since the release of the new ‘standard’ battle royale map Al Mazrah, a month or so since the release of the Mini Royale Trios mode (played on a smaller, limited version of Al Mazrah), and many are left wondering when an even faster-paced mode is going to be introduced.
The mode in question refers to the famous Resurgence mode, previously played on the Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep maps. Fast-paced and adrenaline-infused, this mode is missed by many (myself included).
For those who haven’t played it before, it is essentially a battle royale mode in which you can keep respawning for as long as you’ve a teammate alive. This means that approximately 20 to 30 seconds after you’ve died you simply respawn, given that one of your teammate’s still alive. With no more than ~60 players on the battlefield (per game) and constant respawns, the map gets very crowded and chaotic, and that’s what we all like about it! Zones move faster as well, so you’ve to be on the move at all times.
So far, we’ve only heard rumors about its potential release date. Some have said it could be released much later during the year of 2023. Some others are speculating it’ll be released with the start of Warzone’s Season 2, scheduled to be released on the 1st of February.
Below is a preview of what the new Resurgence map may look like:
For reference, I’ll attach the previous version of the map (from Warzone 1) below. It is a unique map completely unrelated to Verdansk (Al Mazrah’s predecessor). Initially, players had to wait for a full year before this map was released, but hopefully this time Activision’s a bit faster, seeing as it’s their second time launching such a gamemode.
