Lost Ark is one of those MMORPGs that is still alive and kicking even though there’s a general decline in the genre. It’s one of those games that was first released in the East in Korean and Russia before being released piece by piece to the west. That’s the reason why if you see some guides for the game some of them are in Korean, because the Korean servers are up to date and the western versions are just catching up. The game has a lot of classes with a lot of subclasses in them, as well as a lot of grind as well that makes you create alts, in this guide we’ll show you some basics in doing alts.
All You Need To Know In Lost Ark – Complete Alts Guide
What are Alts? It’s short for Alternative characters, a character you make that’s different from your main one. Usually in MMOs people make Alts to test out the different classes the game lets them play since usually one character can only have one class, unless you’re playing Final Fantasy 14.
Why Make Alts?
If you want to get to end game and keep staying in end game in Lost Ark, you’ll struggle without using alts. Alts is not only a great way to experience the other classes in the game, but is also a great source of currency and materials, both you’ll need to stay competitive in the game.
Currency and Materials
Alts are a great way to get materials in Lost Ark. If you’ve done Guardian raids in the game you should know that almost all of the drops there are tradable. From upgrade materials to accessories you can throw around those from your alts to feed your main accounts. Shards are character bound and you’ll need a lot of them in end game content so having a lot of characters with a lot of shards is helpful to say the least!
In Legion Commander Raids gold also drop there so you can get a lot of your alts to do weekly raids can net you a lot of materials and gold that you can then use for your main account.
Each alt can also join different guilds and even those have rewards for you to reap, like guild coins that you can use to get consumables and materials.
How Many Do You Need?
It really depends on you on how many Alts you want. Of course to maximize your gains you’ll need to maximize your alts, but that also means more time you need to play the game and use all those alts. Not to mention the complete monotony of doing weekly raids can quickly sap out the fun if you have a dozen alts. So make sure you find the perfect balance between getting a lot of resources and actually enjoying the game!
