If you’re not gunning down experiments that went rogue in subterranean Russia you’re handling security cameras or listening to politics, such is life for Comrade Major Nechaev. Now you’re caught overstaying your visit because you have no access to the control tower that the locals like to call Volan. As if getting buried with plants and zombies wasn’t bad enough! Not to worry, opening a gate is as simple as walking over from one place to another while waving your Makarov around. Now that you’ve taken a breath of fresh air you will need to get the Volan codes in order to progress through the main objective. Once you’ve done your looting duties feel free to read further to know more about what you need to do!
You will find out that the Volan is of no use at the moment as you don’t have the proper security clearance to fiddle around with it. Enter Granny Zina as she saves your skin (again) from a rampaging Belyash!
The story moves along with a cutscene that accurately represents Soviet politics of the time and you’re given the Volan codes needed to operate the tower. Talk to Grandmother one more time and walk out of her hut.
You’re next objective under SDC-2 Volan Cheatsheet is to head back to the tower, it’s not that far and the path is almost cleared of things to shoot so everything else should be a breeze. Find a camera that has a view of the gate and simply open them to push on through.
That should finish the questline! The next objective is to now move towards Lesnaya Station under the Morning Express. Good luck out there soldier! You’re going to need it, badly.
