In Anime Crossover Defense, you can summon a variety of different units from some of the most iconic shows and anime out there. As part of the tower defense gameplay, you can use these units to defend in the various modes. One of these modes is the new Challenge Rift. The Challenge Rift gets progressively more challenging as you go through the various floors. At one point, the challenge can really ramp up and you’ll need the best units for the job. So, we have a Tier List that will help you get as far as possible. Let’s get into it!
Best Challenge Rift Tier List
There are currently a total of 25 units in Anime Crossover Defense. You can choose any of these units when you are playing the Challenge Rift.
Keep in mind that we will only be putting the units into Tiers based on how they are in Challenge Rift specifically. That means we will be ignoring their effectiveness in everything else the game has to offer. If you’re looking for the best units overall, then we suggest you check out our Best Unit Tier List for Anime Crossover Defense.
Each Tier has a dedicated role to it with most of these roles playing a vital role if you want to get far in the Challenge Rift. After all, you will need to have a balanced team if you want to be effective. With that said, here is the Best Challenge Rift Tier List below.
Money
- Bulma provides you with great money generation from Wave 0 since she has such a high base number. As a result, she’ll be your main go to unit that’ll fund all the upgrades and additional reinforcements you’ll need.
- Just make sure you make her a Mythic if you want to take full advantage of her.
We have outlined how you can make any unit a Mythic in our How To Make Shiny Primal Mythics Guide.
Floor 130+
- Broly with the Omnipotent and CEO trait is by far the best damage option you have. He has a very high base damage, alongside the damage numbers from his top path. He’s also the only one placement unit in the game right now too.
- As a result, he is an absolute necessity if you want to get to the higher floors in Challenge Rift.
We also have an entire guide on if you’re struggling in the higher stages of the Challenge Rift. Check out our How To Beat Floor 100 in Challenge Rift Guide.
Main Damage
- Whitebeard is one of the best damage dealers specifically for Challenge Rift because of his Murakomogiri Whirl ability. If you manage to upgrade it to its fullest, you’re almost guaranteed to win.
- This is because it becomes a full AoE and you’ll start constantly decimating enemies. However, he can be a bit poor in the early waves so you’ll need to generate a lot of money for him.
- Similarly, Madara is a great damage option to have because of his Upper Path Upgrade Four. This is because it allows him to go full AoE. If you can manage to buff his range with traits or support, it’ll be even more effective.
- The only issue is that he has low attack stats at this stage and upgrading him past Upgrade Four will cause you to lose full AoE. So, do not upgrade him past Upgrade Four.
- You can definitely make Mob a viable damage option if you put the CEO trait on him or reduce his cost via Key of Kings. In this way, you can get him to his full AoE and put out great damage numbers.
- The problem arises from the fact that he is a Hill unit which means you might not be able to place him in ideal locations for certain floors in Challenge Rift. So, he is not a reliable damage unit.
We have mentioned quite a few artifacts in the guide here. Check out our Best Artifacts Guide if you want to know about which ones will benefit your units!
Meta Supports
- Sakura is probably the best support unit for Challenge Rift. She has a very cheap placement cost and can give a 50% attack buff. This makes her a great viable option for Bulma zero wave strategies since you can use her as a shield for Cannon waves.
- Additionally, she also takes full advantage of the Uta Uta Fruit for even better buffs.
- Sanji works really well in Challenge Rift for two main reasons. He can be used for some really cheap attack buffs to all units, especially if you use the Key of Kings. Once he’s upgraded to a certain point, he can also start generating a lot of money.
- Money is vital in Challenge Rift and you’ll be able to get both options with him.
- While Steve is on the pricier side of support units, he is potentially the best buff unit when it comes to buffs. When you get him to his Golden Apple stage, you get a 250% attack damage buff which is by far the best in the game.
- However, until you get him here, he tends to be pretty useless. But getting him here basically means you’ve won the game, especially if you use any of the main damage units in your team.
- Nami is a unit that buffs Crit Chance and Crit Damage at a full AoE. She also has a huge range and can even help your other support units buff your main damage ones if you’re forced into a weird placement.
- However, you’ll need to reach the 2500G upgrade at a minimum which can be pricey.
- All Might is actually a really well-balanced unit providing both buff and damage options. However, he can be a bit pricey as you’ll need to get to his Lower Path Upgrade Four, for a 25% Buff.
- But the fact that he can actually support your main damage units in killing low HP units deserves a shout out. On top of that, he also becomes a full AOE damage dealer.
- In Challenge Rift, you’ll come across many Runner enemies that are incredibly tanky. Jotaro is an amazing support unit against them because he can slow them down by 40% for just a 2150 Gold cost.
- The only issue with him is that you’ll need to do a lot of work to make him usable. This includes converting him into a Mythic and a Shiny.
Being able to stack your buffs is an incredibly useful ability for any of your Meta Supports. Check out our How To Buff Stack Guide to find out more.
Good, But Flawed
- You may be surprised to see Shinobu considering she’s an absolute meta support in the game. However, she is just way too pricey for Challenge Rift, with her final buff costing a whopping 23k. So even if she gives the best buffs, it’s just too much money to invest in her.
- Because of her recent buff, Sakuya is actually a decent Support. However, the crit chance and buffs she provides are too low and not the most cost effective. You have other better options to use instead of her.
- Rengoku is a great unit overall, but he has too many flaws for Challenge Rift. He lacks any meaningful range and AoE which is an issue. On top of that, he can’t deal with high HP enemies effectively because of his low base stats. So, he’s not someone you can rely on.
- Byakuya has the opposite issues as Rengoku, with him having amazing base stats. However, he’s way too pricey making him not very usable for Challenge Rift.
- Zoro actually has a really cheap upgrade path to becoming full AoE. You could make him work in certain teams where he can act as a hybrid. However, he just lacks that large base damage needed for his AoE to be fully effective in Challenge Rift.
- Darth Vader has too many flaws in that he does not have any good AoE options while also being pricey. However, with full upgrades, he does deal massive damage to units. But all in all, you won’t find much use for him in Challenge Rift.
Do Not Use in Challenge Rift
- Harry Potter has way too low base damage stats and does not have much support capability.
- Boba Fett (Sneaky Clone) is way too expensive and even then, does not give a high enough base damage. On top of that, he has a poor AoE.
- Eren has good AoE and base damage stats. But because of how expensive he is you can forget using him in Challenge Rift.
- Ichigo has really good base damage but an absolutely awful AoE. He also has a weird line attack which means you’re not killing anyone.
- With great base damage on the bottom path, DIO does have very low potential for Challenge Rift. But he’s too expensive, so you won’t be using him anytime soon.
- Naruto is also too expensive and on top of that has really bad AoEs.
- Goku is not that expensive, but still has horrible AoEs to be used in Challenge Rift. This is because of his line attacks.
- Luke Skywalker just has really horrible base damage stats for you to even think of using him.
That’s everything you need to know for the Best Challenge Rift Tier List in Anime Crossover Defense. Now you should be able to find better results by using the better units we’ve mentioned, especially the ones in the first four tiers.
