Dinkum is a genuinely great game and an interesting take on the whole adventure/farming genre. In this game, you explore something akin to the Australian bush, which is filled with a dozen of different biomes, animals and plants. While exploring though you would start settling down in a good place, to have somewhere to go back to from time to time. But what if that place you got was a bit too bumpy? Too many hills and not enough flat space? Well if that’s your problem this is the guide for you! We’ll show you how to Terraform in Dinkum.

How To Terraform In Dinkum

Sometimes you don’t have a large flat area to put all those tents and houses for your folks on the island. That’s why you need to terraform and create those flat areas yourself. Nothing like destroying entire hills just so you can have a flat place to grow crops, right? There are actually two ways of terraforming, and I’ll explain those to you in this guide.

Shovel

The first way of terraforming is to just use the old-fashioned shovel. You can take one block of dirt and place it somewhere else.

This is very time-consuming but it’s a start, and at the start, that’s the only way you can do things.

Compactor

Compactors are what you need if you want to save time! These bad boys can make a hill disappear in seconds, giving you enough flat space to build that farm, that house or anything else!

You can get one from Franklyn after you’ve donated Shiny Disks to him. After that, you’ll need to gather some stuff to have it made. It needs 50,000 Dinks, 5 old gears, 2 hot cylinders, 1 green board, and 1 shovel. It takes 1 day to craft but after that, you can say goodbye to those pesky uneven hills and terrain!

Don’t let its durability go to zero though! When the compactor gets low don’t forget to recharge it!
