You’ve probably heard of Escape from Tarkov, one of the games that defined a genre much like how Fortnite started the whole Battle Royale boom. The game has a steep learning curve to say the least but it’s something that a lot of players crave for. A difficult game to master but once you do you can’t feel anything close to that feeling. One of the things you need to master in the game are the maps, and in this guide we’ll show you some of the most important things to know about the Woods map in the game.

Guide to the Woods Map – Spawns, Exits, Keys & Loot 2023 For Escape From Tarkov

The woods map is a 50 minute raid map with around 8-14 players, and is the biggest map in Escape from Tarkov. Despite it being huge there are some points in the map that you need to keep an eye out and we’ll go through all of them in this article.

Spawns and Exits

Above is an image of all the exits in the game, and there’s even more spawn points throughout the map. A general rule of thumb though is that if you spawn on the west side of the map, your exits are to the east, and vice versa. Remember where the exits are and know which side of the map you are.

Just remember that ZB-014 needs a key to open and exit while Bridge V EX needs cash to use it.

Sawmill

In the center of the map is the Sawmill, you can probably find this area by just following where the shooting sounds are. This area is filled with high tier loot, enemy AI and most probably high geared players. It’s not something you’d want to go to unless you know exactly what you’re doing. Around the area are various sniping points so you might want to approach it cautiously unless you want to get shot at from far away.

USEC Camp

To the northwest of the Sawmill is the USEC camp, another great place for great loot in the map. It’s much less populated than the Sawmill but it also means some players might pick this than the Sawmill so expect some PVP when going there. Also remembwer that to the west of the camp are mines, so watch your step!

Military Camp

To the southeast of the Sawmill is the Military camp that’s usually called the FOB. It’s a great place to find some medical stuff so it’s also a great place to find PVP. Lots of high value loot in there as well so keep that in mind and weigh your options!

Checkpoint

If you find yourself on the western part of the map you might want to try your luck with Checkpoint since it has some great loot in it. Just be aware that it’s very open and you might get sniped.

Abandoned Village

To the northwest is the Abandoned Village, a great place to find some valuable loot to sell. Not much in terms of anything else like weapons or meds but if you want to get some loot for cash then this is a great place to go.

Scav Town and Old Sawmill

To the northwestern part of the map is the Scav Town which is where a lot of Scavs spawn so watch out. There’s a large amount of loose loot that spawns here but nothing amazing. To the south of that is the Old Sawmill, a better place to find loot in the area and a place not a lot of players go for. Congratulations you now know where some of the points of ineterests in the Woods map in Escape from Tarkov, now go out there and good luck with your raids!
