There are multiple planetary systems you can visit in No Man’s Sky. You can build your base anywhere you would like, but building a base in Low Orbit requires preparation. This guide will show you how you can build a low orbit base in No Man’s Sky.
Build A Low Orbit Base – No Man’s Sky
There is a new technique when it comes to building a Low Orbit Base in No Man’s Sky with the Outlaws update. Before you start a Low Orbit Base, try to find a planet with water. If your planet does not have water, try to find the lowest point of the area like canyons.
Go out to the low point and find a hotspot. Try to get as close to the hotspot while staying in your base area. Drop a save beacon and do a manual save. Do not do any other manual save aside from this, so you can come back to this save if you encounter any errors along the way.
Enable free placement and build the base computer closest to the hotspot area as shown in the photo above. Interact with the computer and claim your base. Immediately go to the building menu and select the Landing Pad.
In the animation when it zooms out, there is a slight pause before the computer zooms in again. When the camera starts zooming again, you need to count about 2 seconds then immediately place your landing pad.
Jump into your ship and check the landing pad if you successfully built it. Reload the game to check if the landing pad stays. If not, reload your manual save and redo it again. Build another computer on the landing pad and claim the base.
If you cannot build the computer, it means that the other computer is not low enough so you may need to find another suitable place.
Build another landing pad and then delete the first computer to set your base in low orbit.
