Fighting off enemies alone in No Man’s Sky can be challenging. With the Outlaws update, you can now hire a Squadron to help you fight your enemies. This guide will show you how you can get your Squadron in No Man’s Sky Outlaws.
How to get Squadron – No Man’s Sky Outlaws
Before you can get yourself some Squadrons, you need to get a Freighter first. You can purchase a Freighter by flying and boarding it in space. However, you can also get a free Freighter by completing a mission about a freighter being under attack.
You can trigger this quest by simply jumping from system to system. Defeat the ships attacking the Freighter and talk to the captain afterward. Once you have a Freighter, go to the center console and select Manage Fleet.
Select Manage Squadron and unlock the Squadron Pilot slots using Nanites. If a pilot lands on your Freighter, you can simply talk to them to recruit them. You can also go into a regular space station and talk to the pilots that land there.
Trading posts are also one of the places you can recruit some Pilots. You can upgrade and dismiss your Pilot in the Manage Fleet menu. Out in space, you can simply attack an enemy and the Squadron will automatically help you.
You can also summon them using the same way you summon your Freighter.
