If you are playing Lethal Company with a friend, you might already have noticed that it is extremely easy for you to get lost in the labyrinth parts of the buildings.
And if you are not so good at memorizing the paths that look exactly alike in the pitch dark when your flashlight dies, it is highly likely for you to lose your teammate as well.
Therefore, you might want to give it a chance to play the game on a split screen. This way, you could at least see where your teammate is!
However, the game does not support a split screen on its own, so you cannot just log in to the game and choose the option. Thus, in this Lethal Company: Split Screen Guide, we are going to show you how you are going to do it.
Split Screen Guide
In order to apply split-screen functionality to Lethal Company, you are going to need to follow a few very easy steps. Let’s check out what you need to do before we begin to explain them one by one.
- Download Nucleus Co-Op.
- Extract the files.
- Move the Nucleus Co-Op folder to the C-Drive.
- Find NucleusCoop.exe and create a shortcut.
- Open Nucleus Co-Op and click on the download game handler.

Now that you know the steps, let’s take a look at each of them individually.
Installing The Game
First things first, of course, you need to have the Lethal Company on your computer. Make sure it is installed and up to date before you begin to install Nucleus Co-Op and set the split screen.
You might want to check if you need to update the game, or if there are any corrupted files beforehand. Not checking these might cause you trouble.
If you are sure that Lethal Company is good to go, you can move to the next step.
Downloading Nucleus Co-Op
To be able to play on the split screen, you need to download and install Nucleus Co-Op first. Doing this will be pretty easy, just search for it on your browser and click on the first result.
Then, click on the download and scroll down to find the file you need to install. You should make sure that you are looking at the latest version of Nucleus Co-Op.
Once you find the latest version, click on NucleusApp.zip. This is the file you need to download.
Once the downloading process is finished, find the file on your computer and right-click to extract the files.
You can use whichever application you want at this step. Just make sure to extract the files and input the password to be able to gain access.
As mentioned, you are going to need to input a password at this step. The password for the file is “nucleus“.
Then, you need to move the Nucleus Co-Op folder to the C-Drive. Once you are done with that, open the folder to find the NucleusCoop.exe, and right-click on it to create a shortcut on your desktop.
Make sure that you also have a shortcut of Lethal Company on your desktop as well, it would make it easier for you to set up the game.
Downloading Game Handler
After opening the application, click on Download Game Handler. Then, write Lethal Company in the search box.
When the download is finished, a box will pop up on your screen. Choose Yes and proceed to find Lethal Company on your computer manually.
Arranging The Game
Before trying to open Lethal Company on Nucleus, make sure to launch it regularly and change your display mode to windowed.
Then, open Steam and right-click on Lethal Company in your library and choose properties. Here, you should disable Steam input. These two steps are very important for the split-screen to work.
Enabling Controller Support
Xpadder can be used to enable controller support if you would rather use a controller than a mouse and keyboard.
With the use of this tool, you can seamlessly map controller inputs to keyboard and mouse actions. If you would like to go with this step, you should download Xpadder and follow its instructions to set it.
Setting Up Virtual Keyboard & Mouse
Now that the game handler has been installed successfully, you can set up Nucleus Co-Op’s virtual keyboard and mouse.
Use the Nucleus interface to search for Lethal Company, then click any button on your actual mouse or keyboard. Your screens will display the virtual keyboard and mouse as a result of this action.
By mapping the inputs on a controller to the corresponding actions on the virtual interface, you can now use the controller as a virtual mouse and keyboard.
Organizing Screens For Split Screen Mode
It is time to set up the screens for split-screen gaming now that all the prerequisite setups are complete. You can reposition the virtual keyboard and mouse on your screens by dragging and dropping them to your desired location.
With this step, multiple players can play Lethal Company in split-screen mode at the same time. The number of players and the display’s aspect ratio will determine whether to arrange the screens vertically or horizontally.
Starting The Game
Now that you set everything up, you can click on the right arrow on the upper right of the interface and click on Play to start the game. Before clicking on the Play, make sure to choose Remove from the box that popped on your screen as well.
Just like that, you can start playing Lethal Company on a split-screen mode! We hope that this Lethal Company: Split Screen Guide helped you figure out how to do everything you need. If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to leave a comment below and we will try to help you out.
