Doing raids and fighting bosses while learning their mechanics is probably one of the most exciting things you can do in MMORPGs. It may not look like it but you’re actually studying the enemy in a video game, learning its moves and memorizing their patterns so you can defeat them. When you finally defeat that boss after dying so many times, that feeling you get is probably the best things in the world, up until you don’t get the loot the boss drops. In this guide we’ll show you how to do the Achates Trial Guardian Raid in Lost Ark.
Achates Trial Guardian Raid Guide For Lost Ark
The Achetes Trial Guardian Raid in Lost Ark isn’t really that much different from the normal version. The main difference is that the Damage and DPS checks are way harsher than the normal one. That’s why you need to know all the mechanics the boss does so that you can maximize your damage to it. Here are the mechanics the boss can do to you when fighting it.
The breath and fire attacks of this boss gives a stacking Scorched Debuff which reduces healing received and damages you over time. Keep this in mind a minimize your stacks as much as possible to stay in the fight longer. When you get 4 stacks you will be surrounded by a flame circle that can damage other players.
Once you deal 20% of the damage or a certain amount of time passes, the boss will become invulnerable and large shield around it will appear. Multiple statues will appear around the boss and you need to defeat them.
Defeating the statues will drop colored items, you need to pick up the item with the same color as the shield and throw it into the shield. After 4 items of the same color is thrown to the shield it will disappear.
Once the shield is down the wings will be exposed and you need to destroy them. Failure to destroy the wings or shield will enrage the boss.
When the boss turns blue it will flap its wings to the direction he’s looking. This will knock back any player in the direction and summoning 3 tornadoes in a cone which does the same. So watch out for this move, if he turns blue, move out of the way!
The boss can also mark two players with a curse, one red and one blue. The players need to stand on top each other for a few seconds to remove the curse. Failing will make the blue curse disappear and the red curse will give constant bleed damage.
If enraged he boss will flap its wings pulling all players towards it. The boss will also summon balls around the arena, when this happens move away from the boss as far as possible while dodging the balls. Failure to do so will one-shot anyone close in the center.
A random player will be targetted by a light circle that slowly closes towards the player, after it does it will drop a flame field that will damage and give the scorched Debuff. Move away from the team when this happens and dodge when the circle is about to close.
The boss can also make a pizza pattern around him that will damage everyone inside the cones. There are safe zones between the cones so quickly get there to avoid damage. He will do this twice in a row.
The boss has 3 different fire breath attacks. One is a stationary attack that hits players in front. Another one is that the boss will move backwards while breathing fire. The last one is an arc of fire that starts from the right to the left in front of him. All fire breath attacks will give the Scorched Debuff.
The boss can summon a circle of light circles around a player or the boss itself. You’ll need to dodge these circles before they hit the ground.
The boss can slam the ground making a cross shape pattern. He’ll then slam the ground again making the pattern explode.
The boss can also fly up and flap his wings, damaging anyone nearby. When enraged he’ll do so while spinning, so make sure you keep moving to avoid the wing attacks.
The boss can fly towards a player knocking anyone down on its path. Usually he will land afterwards, but if he disappears then he’ll do a similar attack to the same player again.
Lastly the boss can do normal swings forward, once with its right leg and another one with its left leg. Safe spot is behind the boss.
